Will toothpaste shift your body out of ketosis?!

Question: I'm doing a water fast to get into ketosis, but i know if i have the tinyiest amount of food my body will quickly shift out of ketosis and start burning glucose. I know you dont swallow toothpaste, but what if a tiny bit went down or if bits got absorbed in your mouth? would that ruin the ketosis?

i have just stopped doing a diet called lighter life, where you only had 520 cals a day and had to drink at least 4 litres of water, i was told that tooth paste and even breath freshening spray will not take you out of ketosis, we even did a urine sample every week and the tooth paste and breathe spray or mouthwash caused no effect, good luck :-)

whats ketosis? where u kill yourself?

I have not got a clue what your going on about, It does not sound that nice actually.

You do know that your body will first attack muscle rather than fat in ketosis, don't you? You can't fast long enough for this to be successful without causing yourself all sorts of health risks - and you can actually die from drinking too much water. I think cleaning your teeth should actually be a priority as your breath will absolutely stink - and since toothpastes contain saccharine rather than sugar, they're nutritionally minimal anyway.

Good luck with the bloating, stinking breath and muscle loss.

why in the world would you want to do that to yourself . do you know how much damage you are going to cause your liver and kidneys as well as what everone else has said here.

This is dangerous, regardless of what any websites say. A low-fat, low-calorie diet and exercise is the only safe way to lose weight. End of story, I'm afraid.
