Question: I'm 13, and I know you're thinking. "She's only 13 she doesn't have to worry about it". Well I do, you don't know me so don't say that. Anyway. I'm 5 feet 5 inches, and I weigh like 118!! So I really want to loose weight and get healthy!!!! Don't tell me to join a gym, because I can't do that, I don't have an treadmill the only thing I have are weights, and I'm not buying anything. Please give me the diet, when to work out, and what to do when I work out.

Well what i do is cheer...but if you don't want to join a gym than that prolly won't work...but what my friend and i do is we go up into my room and for like and 1 1/2 or so we would put on techno music and dance and stuff...it may sound wierd but thats the truth...and then what we do is we put on like other music and then we do pushups v-ups and other work out stuff....if you really wanna get healthy than eat like fruits and vegetables and stuff...i would say do this like 4 days a week for like 3 hrs!!! maybe, i mean if you wanna lose weight that badly than i would do it for 3 hours each day like after school or in the morning before school..also my friend and i used to wake up at 6:00 in da morning and go running like a mile every morning...that may not seem very far but trust me it was hard! and then as we did miles more often they got easier...and then in the morning i would weigh myself before and after the run and then when i weighed myself like at the end of that week i definetly saw a deacrease in weight...hope that helps!!!! bibi! and HAPPY EASTER! *but i mean seriously 5'5 and 118! you really don't need to lose any weight! thats like perfect!

im 15 and a cheerleader. do alot of crunches 20 on each side and then squats and palates works for me =]

You're not overweight. Just wear nice clothes and you'll be fine.

im the same age but i 5'3 and 94 ibs.
i run crosscountry. runing is great weather ur on a treadmill or outside, also drink lots and lots of water!!!!

I'm 16 I know exactly what your saying. Try doing cardio, light weights, and tanning. Thats what I'm doing but I'm lifting heavy. I eat everything I want but I just eat a little.

heavy working out at a young age prevails more cons then pros ..
just try drinking a lot of water ,eating healthy and doing yoga or jogging or light stretching thats it for now

Proper nutrition (water, fruits, vegs, lean protein etc...) and cardio 3-5x week (swimming, running etc...)

Avoid that fast food junk and soda like the plague!

DIscipline to urself....Stay healthy- avoid junkfood for awhile-- (Softdrinks, biscuits. pizza etc..) try not to eat after 6pm...do some walking or running atleast 30 minutes a day..dont eat too much carb.

start eating as healthy as you can, start lifting weights for a least 10 min evry day with dif. body parts and if you can try to go on a 5-10 min run every day

Do inline skating every morning for 1 hour. Then play tennis every evening for 1 hour. Swim 50 meters every day.
Eat 5 servings of fruit and 4 of vegies. Eat seafood at least twice a week for Omega 3 fatty acids...and take a vitamin. Also eat a bowl of beans and rice every few days. Eat a handful of nuts like pistachios and macadamias everyday for protein.

You could try:
Porridge with skimmed milk for breakfast
Tuna salad for lunch
Baked potato or chicken with vegetabls for dinner.

As for excercise, you could go for a 20-30 minute run and do crunches, leg lifts, press ups and use your weights.

GIRL! 5'5 and 118?? thats perfect!!! thats actually a great body!! you dont need to get any better in my opinion, but if you want a few ideas i can help. drink water instead of soda, and dont eat too much sugar. i do crunches every night and it really helps. but you seem like an idol weight. there are lots of people who would want to be that height and that weight!

um im not really sure but i found this website...it might help
http://www.aarp.org/health/staying_healt...

try to exercise more and eat less junk foods.
don't go an a diet...play sports and try spending times outdoors rather than in front of a computer

all you need are some running shoes and a neighborhood. every morning, go out for a run before school. start at 10 minutes and work your way up to 45 minutes. remember not to push yourself to hard in the beginning. try not to walk unless you absolutely can't continue running. drink lots of water throughout the day, and eat frequently, but in small portions. also remember to try to eat fruits and vegetables for snacks and if there are a bunch of cookies on a plate, only eat one. also, weight train 3 times a week and if you have the time, do crunches and pushups every day. if this sounds like a lot to you, join your school's track team and work out with them. good luck :)

you must eat fruits n veg a lot little meat n do not eat in between time u jus take breakfast lunch supper and dinner to be eaten 60mins before bed. remember take brekfast lik a king lunch like a soldier and dinner like a beggar

just practice 4 15min every day

go RUNNINGGGGGGGGGGGG!!

drink 8 glasses of water

eat lots of fruit and veg

eat more protein and less carbohydrates

avoid fat, alcohol, sugar.

goodluck!

You don't need to lose weight unless you want to be anorexicly skinny... you are the correct weight for your age and size. What you need to lose in fat, and either gain muscle or bring muscle out.
Exercise: run 3 times a week and work up to at least 25 min a day. try running but if you can only fast walk than that will be fine. work up to running. weights: look up any weight video and look at your body see where you want to tone tings out and get stronger. use weights on th day you don't run. and don't exercise the same place everyday. like upper body one day the lower the next.
Diet: Eat 4 or 5 small meals a day. Just be healthy. avoid snacks in between. try not to go to bed with a full stomach. the food sits in it and that wouldn't help you.

hope this starts you off well!

You are right, I'm going to say you are 13 and shouldn't be overly concerned with losing weight; however being overweight is a big issue with kids today. However being 5 feet and 5 inches tall at 118 pounds does not sound like you are overweight. If you want to tone up though, you could try walking/biking/or rollar blading 3-5 times a week, and you could begin lifting some weights if you really wanted but again you are only 13. Perhaps stick to body weight exercises like squats, lunges, push ups, dips, stabilizer plank, back extensions, and sit ups. You can find demos of these exercises on the internet - just basically means you do the movements without any equipment, and use different techniques such as tempo and positioning to make it more challenging. As far as a diet, please don't diet - they do not work. Just eat a healthy, balanced diet - eat foods high in fibre, and with lots of nutrients. Try to cut back on sugary foods such as pop, white grains, and desserts. But that doesn't mean you can never have them - just don't eat them everyday. Good luck! Just eat healthy and exercise regularly and you'll maintain a healthy body weight!

please just buy one self maginize , they have little work out card that you have to do it fun i do it to. and I'm 14

you could go jogging in the morning. the morning is the best time to work out. it keeps you healthy and fit. try a sport. play out side alot. in know your 13 and too old for that but im 13 also and me and my friends have lots of fun out side. when you lift weights remember to push yourself b/c thats how your muscles work. do abbs and set apart a time in your day to work out. my cousin once did 600 crunches a day and she got abbs quick! do what you like. find a good workout channel. there are a bunch. figure out what time they come on too.

Actually you are the perfect weight! But as an adolescent/teenager you will naturally overthink about your appearance.

You want to be healthy..then you need cardio somehow...treadmills are a good source but since you don't have one I'd suggest a home video..like Tae-Bo or Jane Fonda, etc. Running outside is a GREAT way to work your overall body shape...butt, stomach, arms and legs the most. Do cardio for 45 mins up to 1 hr and 30 mins. Then use weights for about 30 to 45 mins (only after you've stretched)...you should be able to find all the weight exercises online under specific body parts...but if you want to work the stomach without getting on the floor I suggest holding heavier than normal weights on your shoulders and twisting side to side and frontward.

as for diet...eat lots of protein..(chicken, beans, lean beef, protein shakes, protein bars)...eat less fattening foods such as vegetables and fruit some brown rice is ok but not a ton of it...definitely no junk food...no juices, no bread, no sweets, no lunch meats, nothing that comes in a box, no pasta, no cokes ...only teas and water and milk. use Splenda to sweeten drinks...NO SUGAR!!! eat kashi brand cereals. do not eat more than 1600 calories a day...and no less then 1300 calories. You will lose weight quick as long as you don't cheat. try to reduce your sodium intake...that means using "no salt" salt only a buck or 2 at wal-mart. also, get more fiber (it keeps you full)..you can buy fiber in a no taste powdery form to put in the food you make..you want 25 to 35 grams of fiber every day...but start out small doses and work up to 25 to 35grams or you'll be gassy and constipated...haha.

have fun.

Okay, first of all, get this straight - you're perfectly healthy and don't need to lose weight at all. However, I'm going to guess you have your weight is in fat, which is why you're feeling insecure.

In terms of what to eat, the only thing you have to avoid is fatty foods such as chocolate. Remember only to eat when you are hungry, and not to eat just because you can. If you feel the need for an unhealthy snack, drink a glass of water or eat fruit.

You should excercise every day, but alternate between working out and burning off.

For working out, I would do leg lifts and crunches to tone your legs and stomach. One excercise that I came across for arms that I don't know the name of uses only a ball - push it in front of you, bring it back towards you, push it above you, bring it back to towards you... rinse and repeat! I would not reccommend lifting weights. Remember to warm up, stretch and cool down.

To burn off, you don't need to go running on a treadmill, you can simply go for a walk, jog or cycle outside.

Good luck, but please try to remember that you are PERFECTLY HEALTHY AND DO NOT NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT.
