Easy.
Take the dumbell you want to use (start with a comfortable weight so you don't strain your wrist. Remember, you want to feel the "burn" in your muscles, not in your tendons)
Hold the weight in your hand. If you want, you can balance your elbow on your knee as you sit.
Raise the weight towards you repetitively.
Or lower the weight towards the floor repetitively.

No, it won't work your biceps. You're not trying to CURL your arm. Don't bend your elbow. You're just resting your elbow on your knew as you raise or lower your HAND. You're bending your wrist while holding weights, nothing more.
