How do you build stamina for a sport?!


Question: I am going to start a sport that needs a lot of endurance and stamina and was wondering how to build up stamina.

Actually it would help if you told us which sport. As a general rule though, endurance is built through aerobic exercise. Boxers for example, although big and muscular, need a lot endurance. So boxers run a lot. Also running backs in football do a lot of running. Any sport you do running will be beneficial. And it's a myth that you cannot build muscle and endurance at the same time. OK, a heavyweight boxer might not run a 3 hour marathon, but he's still able to run a good distance because 3 minute rounds of boxing require a lot of endurance.
