Anorexia killed my metabolism?!

Question: So when I eat, I gain an abnormal amount of weight.
I know it was stupid so don't rub it in. =P
But now I'm recovering. If I eat 3 small meals a day will I be able to stay at my weight (not gaining or losing)?

Yes, although I would say eat more often in smaller portions. This will definitely help maintain your weight, keeping your hunger at bay and blood sugar levels steady.

You really should work with a nutritionist. It will take a long time and several small meals a day to start to rev your metabolism back up, and you also need enough food to repair the damage your anorexia has caused your health. I wouldn't advise going it alone on this.

yes, the only way to get your metabolism back to normal is by exercisign a lot and lifting weights.

ive no idea.
but i love you.

Eating 6 small, balanced meals a day is preferable to eating 3 bigger meals. You really should work with a nutritionist to help you along the way in determining how many calories you should be taking in. Then you can split up those calories over the day, eating about every 2 hours or so. I hope you are also working with a counselor to be able to talk about your feelings about the changes that will be happening with your weight and your physical condition.

It will take awhile for your metabolism to become balanced again, so take it one day at a time. With patience, you will find that balance. Keep up the good work, and good luck!
