How much should i be lifting?!


Question: Im 14 years old and i want to start lifting some wieghts, im 5'8 and i weigh like, 200 pounds, (as you see, i also want to loose some weight) so, how much should i be lifting?

i hope that french dude means 200 lbs, lol... basically, you'll be able to lift as much as you can. start off lifting a low weight and keep going up until you can't lift anymore (be sure to have someone nearby if you need help for certain lifts, ie benchpress, squats, powercleans) then, once you get your 1RM (1 rep max), you can decide how much you should lift, and how often. be sure to have a day of rest between each day you lift (unless you exercise a different muscle group every day, then go ahead) because lifting is a tear and repair process. ify you lift everyday, you'll ghet stronger but your muscles will be more prone to injury...

im 19. in france im on my college football team. im offensive lineman. i max out at 20lbs on benchpress. best in school
