WEIGHT HELP! ANYONE ANswer! :(((?!


Question: Hi!
I am 10 years old, and I weigh 76 pounds. I think I am a great person too. The only thing that I really dont like is my weight. My stomach has flub. =( I run like a mile every 2 nights or so, and 2 days ago I ran a mile and a half in 8 to 9 minutes. For some reason though, I am not losing the weight I would like to. I am leaving for Hawaii on April 3, and I don;t like my stomach! My abs suck too. Don't make fun of me please. And please don't say "You are growing and that is normal", or don't treat me like a baby. All I want to know is how to lose some weight. SERIOUSLY DONT TREAT ME LIKE A BABY! and to all of you adults, no offense, but u guys treat us like babies. we know real world stuff. we knw what cuss words are, and we arent little 6 year olds. WE ARE TIRED OF U PEOPLE TREATING US THAT WAY!

i think for a ten year old you are very self concious about your weight...
since you already do alot of exercise i think its what your eating hunny...

Calories are whats in food and you have to burn through those first before getting to fat. If you dont burn of the calories then they turn into fat.

go on that website and count up the calories you eat a day. Try to minimise the calories you eat be eating fruit more often and choclates & naughty food less...
for example you might run for 20min and then eat a meat pie, which puts on what you just burned off.
To lose weight you have to burn more calories then what you eat. (and no dont go anorexic or it may have the reverse affect)
So in the mornings go on your run before you eat. and do a 20 minute run.
If you do that everyday, wow you will start seeing improvments in a week!

eat more in the morning because just walking around school can burn of a few calories, and remember eat less at night cause those calories dont get burned off and turned into fat.

put it in to your reguarl habit, not like its a chore.
dw iv'e been exercising from your age, so dont worry about what other people will say.

ITS NOT JUST ABOUT EXERCISE.

If you're just using this site to complain about how you and 'your people' feel about 'us adults' then you're obviously not old/mature enough to be on this site and asking questions.

You say "SERIOUSLY DONT TREAT ME LIKE A BABY!" but you're acting like a baby by saying that..

And last, it sounds like you're a really fit person for your age, more than most kids, and sometimes it's hard to lose weight around your stomach just because that's how the human body grows. I know you don't want to hear this but you actually are 'growing' and I don't get what's so bad about hearing the truth?

You are only 10. Stop trying to grow up so fast. You get mad at older people for treating you like you are a child, but that is how you are acting.

Anyway, are you eating well. Your diet could be a factor. You need a well balanced meal, don't try to starve your self or throw up your food because that will make you really sick. My friend became bulimic when she was 11 and she had to be hospitalized for it. Just eat well, fruit and vegetables, something balanced.
Also, some people can exercise and exercise and they won't lose a lot of weight. Do sit ups to tone your abs. Sometimes people store fat in different places and you have no control over where that may be.
Don't obsess over this. Having this consume you will just make it worse.

First of all, stop worrying about adults treating you like babies. The point is that they want you to be healthy first, and the rest comes second. 10 year olds worrying about their weight/looks *seems* silly to them (though I can sympathize, my GF was worried about her weight at 11 :P).

So first and foremost, stay healthy. Don't diet. That's the WORST thing you could do to yourself, since you are hardly done growing. Your 10 year old body does not represent the body you'll have in as little as 2-4 years.

After that, if you want to tone yourself up, try work outs that target your stomach. Basically any "rigorous" workout, like cardio, should do the trick to build muscle, and keep you healthy and strong. But just remember to keep VERY hydrated, and NEVER skimp on your diet. Denying your body food is just going to make it look more unhealthy.

And in the end, don't worry *too* much, you are still growing quite a bit. :)

If your height is about 4'6 then your weight is fine. If you are about 5'0 then you are underweight and if you are about 4'0 then you are overweight.

If you try to reduce your weight at your young age (when you are NOT overweight) you could STUNT your growth and grow into a SHORT adult.
