5 hours of walking..?!

Question: Would walking 5 hours straight on the treadmill be a bad thing? Just wondering if anyone has walked this long..for five hours straight. Just stopping once in awhile to stretch. I kind of want to do that just to see what it would be like..just being on the treadmill for five hours or longer for the whole day..just walking at a normal pace...sounds fun and boring at the same time..

I've been on backpacking trips and day-long hikes where I hike for 6-8 hours per day (with plenty of breaks for food and water) but you already have to be in pretty good shape to pull it off. And 5 hours on a treadmill sounds terribly boring. Just make sure to wear good shoes with ankle support if this is something you really want to try.

dont do that. u will completely fatigue out ur body. the next day, it will be so hard for u!!! that is really really unhealthy.

It's not a bad thing, but even running for just 10 minutes is better because it gets your heart pumping more. Walking burns calories but it isn't really that much of a work out for most people. Running for 10 minutes may burn less calories than walking for 5 hours, but it gets your heart pumping which exercises your heart and makes you live longer if you do it forever.
