I weigh 265 lbs - Any advice for me? please answer?!


Question: I've posted quite a few and have gotten some good feedback but really want as much as I can get. I am a sophmore at Madison university and went into freshman year weighing about 210 pounds. Now i am 265. I need advice to lose weight!!! thanks

Try to make healthier snack and meal choices. Instead of getting food from the vending machine or something, try to buy 100-calorie packs, Jello, or other low cal/low fat foods. Don't drink regular sodas...if you really need a soda drink a diet one. You may not realize it but if you drink alot of soda, the calories really add up. Most universities have campus gyms, so try going to the gym a few times a week. Take the steps instead of the elevator when it's realistic (like 4th floor or lower). If you eat in the school dining hall, try to eat some of the vegetarian options or look for the low-fat foods. I know my university has an online menu with a symbol system (a heart beside it if it's trans-fat free, etc.) so you can use that to plan your menus. Also try not to eat late at night. A midnight pizza delivery may sound great, but eating that many calories before you go to sleep is not helping your weight loss efforts at all. If you drink alot of beer, either cut down on it or switch to light. I know a guy that's a freshman in college and has gained 40 pounds solely from drinking a buttload of beer.

Cut out all snacks, don't go back for seconds, and start exercising! Do some stairclimbing, some crunches, some brisk walking. Something like that! :)

Walk every morning for 20 minutes, then in a month jog for 5 minutes and in 3 months run....It works the best.

BTW It helps if you have a pet dog, cuz they force you to walk lol

How old are you? well go to walmart, target etc and get a jumping rope its only 10 to 15 dollars this excersise if very helpful an effective, look it up on youtube so you can see. You can loose 1000 calories an hour. Its fun too and dont eat dinner try to think about how you eat. Eat fruits veggteables or just dont eat junk food try to cut it.
