Shoot for 7 weeks for the most permanent path.
Eat 2000 calories a day. Spread it over 6-8 meals. Eat 40% carbs, 30% fat, 30% protein, and exercise whenever possible. Also, don't forget water.
You should be able to burn 3 lbs a week (the maximum HEALTHY loss), which equates to 12 lbs a month and 144 lbs in a year.

Watch what you eat and move a lot.

do lots of sport and eat lots of protein to energize you. try to go jogging for at least 30mins every day until 5 weeks, good luck!!

Count your calories, try for no more than 1800 a day.
Plus do an hour of intense exercise a day, mixing cardio with weight training. If you can afford it, get a membership to a gym where they offer classes such as aerobics. The instructor plus other people in the class will really help to push you to your limit. Or, if you can afford it, get a personal trainer. They will also be able to help set you up with fitness goals and exercise routines that will help you for the rest of your life.
Drink more than 8 cups of water a day.
Eat lots of protein and restrict fat. Cut out chips, cookies, cake, ice cream, pie, donuts, pastries, etc.
Cut down on or cut out completely: alcohol and caffeine.
Don't step on a scale for 2 months or else you will obsess over every pound lost or gained, even though losing may be water weight and gaining may be muscle.

Good luck!

watch what you eat try to keep your self actve at all times try not drive (if you have license) and walk to super markets be creative and find yout own ways to improve your fitness. good luck!
