Is yogurt good for you?!


Question: On the back of yoplait yogurt the low fat yogurt says its 170 calories. IS it just prote and healthy stuff? but on teh dieting replacements part of the label its says it rep[laces 1 glass of skim milk and 1 1/2 carbs. does that mean i f i eat a yogurt im not supposed to drink any more milk even though ill have a yogurt and like two more glasses? is it even good for you why is it so high in caloriesd. im confizziled.

lol Yoplait yogurt light should only have 100 calories. They have all those crazy flavors like key lime pie and chocolate mousse and all those. Yogurts goooddd

oh yes it is very good my grandfather ate it and lived to be 106

yes in a way but I believe there is a lot of sugar in yougurt or sweeteners..

yogurt is pretty much fungus...i think its good for you.

Danon makes a brand that is only 60 calories, it's called Light and Fit and it's white and purple packaging. That's the kind I eat and I eat one everyday. It is good for you because of calcium and good bacterial cultures, and especially PROTEIN! You can still have milk, all it's telling you is that it covers some of the nutrients offered in a glass of milk so you can use it as a substitute (I don't drink milk AT ALL but still get calcium from yogurt).

Stick to low fat yogurt. I personally buy those Dannon Light Fruit smoothies... they are 80 calories each and sometimes I will drink 4 a day. That's all I eat during the day,and being a woman, I need the calcium. I use them as a weight loss tool... I have kept 80+ pounds off for almost 2 years now...

Yoghurt is good for you, it contains good levels of calcium and contains probiotics which help in digestion and healthy working of your intestines. What it means is that the yoghurt contains roughly the SAME amount as 1 glass of skim milk not that it cancels the other out. The only thing you should watch out for is that some 'low fat' foods contain high sugar levels...so worry less about calories and have a quick look at how much sugar is in it.
