Your body needs nutrients to help your muscles repair and recover. The food is eat immediately after lifting weights is very important. Generally its best to have a protein source available soon after lifting with a meal with lots of protein and complex carbs (depending on weight) 30 minutes to an hour later. If you are chubby and trying to lose weight, make sure to still get the carbs just limit the calories. Personally, I have a protein shake right after lifting whether I'm trying to lose or gain weight. It's a quick, cheap, and quality protein source.

no, you don't need them. They are only for people who don't eat enough protein. If you want to lose weight, keep exercising and just don't eat junk.

of course you do. you want to get into the habit of eating regularly to speed up your metabolism anyways. people always have this misconception and only want to do one thing at a time. it is way better for you if you lift weights to tone up and do cardio to cut down on excess bodyweight. give yourself a protein shake with juice after a good workout....your body needs it

no you don't need protein as long as you eat a balance diet you don't need it. It also adds calories to you daily caloric intake.

Drinking a protein shake afer a work out is just added calories to your daily intake. to lose weight it's simple... eat less... work out more. Diets don't work... lifestyle changes do.

I'm trying to lose weight too and it's sooo hard. My aunt is using a weight loss product and it's really working for her (100% natural). I'm gonna try it and I recommend you try it too. It's really a colon cleanse, and it's a healthy way to detox, not like most diet pills. Check their website at
