If you exercise and eat whatever you want can maintain wight?!

Question: Well, you still don't want to go too far with the food.
I Jog a lot, and I eat, well, average (I actualy don't eat that much), and still I do have some extra pounds. Some people can eat a whole lot and not get fat, while others eat little and still gain weight. I have a friend that eats five times more than me and she is skinnier than me! So if you want to stay at the same weight you are, you always have to pay attention at how much you eat an exersise. But, enjoy life, go eat and have fun if you are exersising.

the best way to maintain weight is by burning the same amount of calories you eat per day, so if you eat 2300 calories then you need to burn 2300 calories, if you eat 2900 calories and only burn of 2300 calories will gain weight. to lose weight the same theory applies backwards, burn more calories than you consume.

Nope, it doesn't work that way. You have to eat reasonably and exercise reasonably. You can exercise daily for 3 hours but if you eat 5000 calories you're going to gain weight. All things in moderation.

from my experience, yes, depending on what you eat, for instance, i only drink water, lots of it,i always eat 3 lowfat healthy meals, yogurt and fruit for snacks, very little meat, but i love hersheys chocolate and eat it alot, i eat about 3000 calories a day sometimes more, i do cardio everyday anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes a day and strength train 3 times a week, i am also pretty active outside that, i park in last spot when i go to store, im always fidgeting ect. since its easter i have really indulged in a lot too much chocolate! i still did my cardio and to my surprise after a day of really indulging on lots of chocolate, i woke up and weighed myself and i was a pound lighter. so the answer would be yes!
but if you eat nothing but fast foods, high fat foods, greasy foods ect, maybe not.

well, it all depends. some friends of mine eat non stop and weigh over 200lbs. i eat all the time, never exercise and weigh 95lbs.(im 13 just so you know.) so it all depends on your body. i say just east healthy and exercise at least times a week for 20mins. it's good for you and relives tons of stress about your body. because then you know at least you tried.

I agree with the first answer. I would add that you can't just consider the number of pounds that you weigh, because you need to look at your overall health, too. You need to eat sensibly no matter how much you exercise. If you exercise a lot, you almost need to be more careful about what you put in your body because you need to make sure that you are giving it the nutrients and "fuel" that it needs for all that you are demanding from it. Eat whole grains instead of white grains, and eat at least a couple servings of fruit and vegetables with every meal as much as possible. Get a couple servings of dairly a day, but not much more than that, and only use sweets very sparingly--maybe one serving per day. Get a good source of protein, and be sure you are drinking 6-8 glasses of water every day. Just like you wouldn't put gas in a diesel truck, you need to give your body food that is good for it, regardless of the amount of calories you burn each day. If you stick with it long enough you can re-train your tastes so that what is good for you does become "whatever you want."
