Anger as workout motivation?!

Question: Has anyone used hate or anger as a workout motivator? It seems like a lot of people use fast and angry music for their workouts and I wonder what theyre feeling and thinking.

Sports turned my working out real angry real fast. It was all about showing up and shutting up the coaches and players. I was fat and weak so I didn't get much respect. My freshman year in football sucked and I didn't get any playing time. But I came back the next year to prove something, I don't know exactlly what but there was a nagging. Anyway, before the second season started I had lost 15 pounds from the previous year, gained 70 pounds on my bench press, and shaved 4 minutes off my mile time. When the season started, no respect again, until I started peeving off the other players. I was actually trying to work, turns out jocks don't like that. The coaches noticed and I got a starting spot before the season started. I went from bencher to letter-winner, fueled only by anger. I should of felt good and proud of my work and accomplishments, but I didn't, it was all wrong. I didn't like what I was doing or who I was doing it for, the dumb jock coaches. Anger is a terrible workout motivation, because when it comes time to reap your rewards it is meaningless because it was done for the wrong reasons. I'm not in sports anymore, my replacement went all-conference which kind of sucks, but oh well. I know that the things I strive to achieve now are no longer accomplished by anger.

I already you anger and hate to do some workout. I think it's really giving you energy to do what you want.

Yeah, my workout music is my hardcore music playlist. When I was still hung up on my ex, I thought about her and the guy she liked a lot and it made me push through a lot harder on my lifts. I have no idea why. Sounds weird, I know. You can exert more force when you're pissed.

yes trust me you feel better when you do

Exercising to anger gives you the feeling that you're fighting whatever you are angry at. After exercise serotonin levels in your body rise, and you get the sense of satisfaction too. In a way, exercise is a healthy way to channel pent-up rage or unhealthy anger. I'd use it.

anger is really a good motivator when you workout. based on experience, i perform better cause i feel stronger. i can lift 10% heavier of the normal weight i use on my normal workout.

i think that it is a good motivator because you get the feeling that you just want to nail this workout better than before.

Yeah, when my mom's all >8( ish , she cleans.

I've had that before.

(in my opinion)
It's usually because sometimes it's hard to cope with stuff that can't be controlled (negative intentions), and you just want to slap a person or something, so instead you take it out by doing workouts to lift away stuff -weights-.

Or the angry music is to keep you from not concentrating on it, so you shift your attention towards working out to block most of the sound more. Now, if it was elevator music that's playing while working out, things would be all slow and the workout isn't worth it.

Since I started to work out I was looking for a good weight loss product (I only wanted something 100% natural). I was on a diet but I felt that I needed a little "help" so I decided to try this great detoxification colon cleanse and I had fantastic results. You can check their website at
