Answers: I know it gets yur heart pumping but what does the heart have to do with anything, how does it make you burn more fat?

Well, to get your heart pumping faster, your body needs to give it more energy. The energy first comes from what is available immediately in the blood stream. This would be from the last food you ate, and the calories that haven't been stored yet. Once those calories are burned through, your body goes to its muscles for short-term stored calories. Those are then broken down into immediate energy, and given to the heart and the muscles you are using to run/bike/swim etc.


THEN, once the calories in the blood and then the muscles are exhausted, your body finally goes to its fat storage, and begins to break the fat down in to blood sugar / calories. That is why it is important to work out for at least 20 minutes or more, because it takes a while for your body to want to break down fat.

Your heartrate regulates your metabolism, the greater your metabolism the more you burn fat. SOooooooooo its pretty important to get your heart pumping, to regulate your metabolism and stay healthy!!!=)
