How do you control your appetite?!

Question: I have been eating better and cutting way down on things like sugar, simple carbs, and saturated fats while eating more fiber and protein. I also try and eat several small meals a day to keep my metabolism going. However, even with doing all of this, I still feel hungry all of the time. It feels like my stomach is always growling and I am craving the carbs like no tomorrow. Is there any point in trying appetite suppresants? What else should I do to help this?

Reading 12 ways to curb cravings without natural appetite suppressants like Proactol or Hoodia may help you: http://www.nowloss.com/natural-ways-to-c...

eat more fiber rich food, multigrain or whole wheat bread. stay away from refined rice, bread, pastas,

if you are still growing, you need more grains than grownups do.
to prevent cravings, there are two ways:

1. the reason you crave in the first place, is because something is missing in your diet. so do eat carbs, protein in moderation along with and vegetables.

2. My dietician swears by Glutamine powder for reducing cravings and also improving nutrient absorption.

snack on berries and soya nuts. just 2 tbsp of soya subsides hunger pangs.

if you just started it takes a couple of weeks for your body to stop craving carbs. sounds like you're on the right track

I know this sounds stupid but whenever I feel like gorging I go and clean my teeth. Then I never want to eat when my mouth tastes of spearmint toothpaste!!

Your brain often confuses thirst and hunger which is why I drink about a gallon of water a day (twice the recommended daily allowance). It sounds huge, but not when you constantly sip on a water bottle all day. I've gotten to the point where I don't even think about it and somewhat crave it.

When a hunger pain hits, go drink a tall glass of water. If you are still hungry in a few minutes, there is no shame in eating a healthy snack. It's better to feed your metabolism rather than starve it.

Sometimes when you feel hungry you are actually thirsty try drinking some water I know it helps me, what also helps me is just chewing some gum.. a tasty flavor, and when your chewing gum your not thinking about chewing other things... hope it helps!
