What food u recommend for someone on a diet and needs a change in what i eat?!

Question: Hi, first let me say I'm so proud of you for taking the first steps to getting healthier and congratulations on your weight loss!
My husband is what is known as a celebrity trainer, in other words he trains the rich and famous. Part of what he does is nutrition counselling so I will share my dieting secrets with you. It is important that you take a multi vitamin every day. I recommend taking it at night before bed. Secondly, you absolutely must eat 5 or 6 small meals each day to speed up your metabolism. Lastly, sip green tea or oolong tea after each meal and the lbs will fall off. Here is a sample of my daily menu. Try to eat every 2.5 to 3 hours to keep burning fat. I also found that sipping water between all of my meals helped me flush more fat and keep the metabolism up.

Breakfast: 1/2 cup bran cereal low in sugar, with 1 fat free yogurt or eggbeater omelette with spinach and 1 slice low card toast with i small apple. Green tea

Snack: If I had fruit for breakfast I have yogurt for snack and if I had yogurt for breakfast I have fruit for snack. Green Tea

Lunch: Have a lean cuisine, or any low cal low fat prepared meal with a side salad. If dining out stick to grilled chicken and a house salad(no dressing just lemon or balsamic vinegar, or a 6 inch subway turkey and veggie sub on whole wheat no cheese, sub sauce or mayo. Mustard only. Green Tea

Afternoon snack: Veggie dip, or 12 almonds no salt, or 12 walnuts, or 2 celery sticks with low fat peanut butter or a low fat yogurt. Green Tea

Dinner: Grilled Veggies or salad ( try to eat spinach salad with egg whites at least 3 times per week), 1/2 cup brown rice( I cook this twice a week and keep it in the fridge) chicken breast or piece of fish. I love grilled salmon or tilapia ( you can sprinkle with cajun spice or lemon and pepper before grilling. Green Tea

Evening snack: I love to make a Faux chocolate shake at night so I feel like I'm having dessert. Her are two ways to eat right while getting the protein your body needs. If I make a shake I make a protein shake With chocolate protein powder(Weider) I mix 1 scoop protein, 2/3 cup water and 1/2 a small banana with 1/2 cup ice. Blend in blender until smooth.. get out your straw and yum just like a shake! If I want pudding I make fat free, sugar free, chocolate pudding and I mix the same protein powder in it. Cook as normal and you can have chocolate pudding. You can also try skinny cow fat free/ sugar free ice cream bars for a change. Green Tea
I wish you much success and keep up the good work!

salad

Alot of people miss out on veggies, eat veggies and if you dont like em try to mix em in with somehting like pasta or soup.

Try 50% protein, 30% fat, 20% Carbs, but none of that will matter if you are not exercising on a regular basis. Not just cardio either, you must do resistance training as well as cardio.

Oh and drink lots of water.

first of all seafood is really good for you, i say seafood, i mean fish not deep fried or buttered with bread crumbs just fish plain, its really good for you. Try salads, you can always mix salads up, get different fat free dressings, try some red onions in them with cucumbers, carrots, celery, and throw some chicken into it thats been grilled or baked with no skin or dressings, salads can be very good! Also lots of raw veggies, when you cook veggies you loose a lot nutrients which is the reason to eat veggies in the first place. Or you can do what i do, i went to the store and got those new zip lock microwave bags, you take raw veggies, and throw them in the bag, and on the bag of each bag itself it gives you the cooking time for all veggies and whatever you want to cook, (you can even do fish and poultry in it), like if i want a snack i take brocoli, pop it into the bag (no need for water there is enough in the veggies) and hit 3:00 minutes, fresh steamed veggies in a bag that releases no nutrients, so its steamed and still full of nutrients!

Try some sandwhiches, use all wheat bread, and get some lean turkey, fat free mayo (use just a bit) if you like cheese, get fat free american, have half a sandwhich with a salad and save the other half for later.

I'm just giving you what i do, i've lost 30 pounds in the last 6 months, and i know how hard it is to find food that doesnt get repatitive, (dont think i spelled that right)

Also check out the food network, they have a healthy eating section that shows you how to make the food, a lot of them are quick, like 10-15 minute recipes, and it shows you how many calories and fat you are consuming, that way you can still keep track.

Good luck!

First off, canned soups arent good because most of them have a TON of sodium which retains water weight.

But, I lost 25 lbs. over the summer from college in just drinking 8-10 glasses of 8 oz. water a day. workout in some form of 30 minutes 3-4 times a week and cut out fats/oils/sweets....

chicken is low in calories put it in some salad
