How can I get bigger shoulders?!

Question: Is there any workouts I can do to build bigger shoulders? All I have is a pair of 15 pound dumbbells (I could decrease the weight if I want to) and a bench press. Many people are saying pull-ups are the best way to build big shoulders but I don't have a pull-up bar. So what workouts can I do?

The same motions that you do with a pull up you can do with the dumbbells.... Another exercise would be to stand straight feet shoulder with apart take the dumbbells in each hand bring them out in front of you with straight arms parallel then take your arms out to your sides like your measuring your arm span... put them back in front of you parallel... bring them straight up over your head and back down again backwards from how you got them up there..... It is called lateral raise..... It works your shoulders very well I did them in weightlifting for four years.... It really works. It is hard to describing it. I hope this can help.

If you like to swim, try doing the butterfly stroke on a regular basis. I guarantee you will build up shoulder bulk.

ok hold the 15lb dumbells at your side... and raise them up by your sides as high as you can.... then in a controlled movement, bring them back down and repeat it... also do this in front of you too. These work your deltoids (shoulders)

You can do pull ups on a tree branch or push ups.

Take the barbell (from the bench press) and stand up holding it in your arms just below your chin. Then press it into the air. Or with the 15lb dumbbell, stand holding one in each hand at your shoulders, and press them into the air straight up, then back down to your shoulders

NO **** THOSE PULL UP TAKE YOUR DUMBELLS AN PUT THEM IN UR HANDS AN SHRUGG YOUR SHOLDERS AN DO THIS UNTIL YOU CAN DO IT NO MORE I LIFT WEIGHTS SO THAT WILL HELP

There are heaps of programs out there for all levels of weight trainers. Before you start the example of an intermediate to advanced program below here are some tips:

1. Don't just train your shoulders, Hormone release is key to building muscles. This release occurs after training and while asleep. Funny enough the hormonal release of this testosterone and growth hormone benefit the whole body not just the muscles worked;
2. Use multi-joint exercises in your initial exercises programs. a lot of people spend so much time isolation training each part of the muscle. These multi joint exercises have been proven to release hormones more effectively for muscle mass;
3. Perform all repetitions slowly and in a controlled manner. This reduces injury chances and maximizes growth potential; and

4. Make sure your technique is correct before beginning exercises to reduce the chances of injury.

PROGRAM (performed 1-2 times per week)
Exercise 1: Dumbbell Shoulder press - perform 3sets of 6 to 8repetitions, rest 1 minute between sets.

Exercise 2: Barbell Upright Row - perform 3sets of 8 to 10 repetitions, rest 1 minute between sets.

Exercise 3: Side/Lateral Raises - perform 2 sets of 10 to 15repetitions, rest 1 minute between sets.
