Does this sound like a good idea? Not eating?!

Question: I am 3 stone overweight, (42 pounds) I exercise daily for about half an hour, I eat the right foods and junk food, a mixture of both. I have now decided to eat for half a day. So anytime after 4.00pm I will not eat anything. Does that sound like a good idea? I will be eating a large breakfast and a dinner. My stomach swells everynight if I do eat so now I am fighting back!

No..honestly, sounds like a bad idea to me. Just cut out all the junkfood you eat, and have 3 small meals a day, plus 2 reasonable snacks. Try to keep your calories low, but no less than 1200 a day. And don't eat after 7pm. That's the best way to keep your metabolism high, and lose the most weight. Studies have proven that smaller meals, more frequent meals work better than eating fewer large ones. It's hard for the body to digest those 2 big meals you plan on eating. Keep the calories low, but coming in at a constant stream.

It is a good idea not living cause thats what will happen if you don't eat

idk

As long as you take in at least 1200 calories a day there is nothing wrong with stopping eating after 4pm. Do not stop drinking though. Drink enough water everyday to stay hydrated.
Good Luck and take care!

No. Your body will go into starvation mode where it starts storing fat preparing for something to sustain it during periods where no food is available.

Instead, try 6-8 small meals throughout the day and turn junkfood into a once a week treat (and add it into your calorie intake - plan for it). Stick within a healthy calorie count for losing weight. Also - increase your exercise 15 minutes a day up to 45.

WOAH! Just because you're overweight shouldn't bring you to the idea of not eating... you should eat healthy. A good simple amount of sugary foods because your body DOES need sugar. Try to eat healthy, exercise just a bit every other day and have only ONE or TWO snacks. Please don't damage your body by not eating. THAT is unhealthy. I hope an idea came to mind ^-^
Oh right, you must also drink plenty of water. NOT too much, 100 cups of water WILL kill you. Because you are drinking too much of what you need and you will drown from the inside O__O. Oh yes, fruit is a good idea too. ^-^ How about apples, watermelons, salad... or something else. They are healthy AND tasty! ^__^

NOOO! try to cut out the junk food a treat here and there isnt too bad try eating smaller meals, like a light breakfast than like 3 hrs later eat a peice of fruit, like 3 hrs later eat a small breakfast, than 3 hrs after that eat a snack again something small, and than like 2-3 hrs later eat dinner, by the time dinner hits your going to want a smaller portion, when eating main meals breakfast lunch and dinner try to eat half of what you would usually eat, cause if you fill up your plate you are most likely going to over eat cause its in front of you, just try to eat as healthy as possible try to eat fruits as snacks it will help fill that sweet tooth lol and if you like salty eat a handful of mixed nuts for a snack. hope this helps... and oh yea if you eat half day it will slow down your metabolism...

Yes, it is a good idea, but try eating smaller amounts at a time, too. Your stomach stretches and then your hunger comes back stronger.

Eating a moderate meal at each setting and stopping eating at 6PM is a better plan, but going to be hungry will make you lose weight.

I know many people who have done this but just a bit differently. Eat a healthy breakfast... it doesn't have to be large just healthy and filling, a healthy lunch and an early dinner. Make sure you fill up on fruits and veges and eat whole grain. Drinking a lot of water will also help you to not feel hungry. You also need to make sure you are exercising everyday!!

Sounds like a good idea. I think that you should quit the junk food. This may be the reason why you are bloated. Usually you should stop eating 2 - 3 hours before bedtime.

auvously not eating is not a good idea

First of all... up your exercise more, because eventually your body will get use to what you're doing and it won't help as much. Second, try eating small meals throughout the day instead of three large ones, that apparently works well... and of course continue eating healthy.

during the day, if your body goes 5 hours without food it will go into starvation mode, which is why everyone says to eat every 2-3 hours to keep your metabolism going and its best. doing what you are doing will only promote over eating, so no i dont think your plan is a good idea. trade off your junk food for healthy food and you'll lose weight. quality and quantity are equally important while on a diet. eat less at night, and fill your dinner full of veggies, and you will be good, but dont cut it out entirely. otherwise, maybe instead of eating dinner you could graze after 4:00, and frequently return to the kitchen and grab some carrot sticks and grapes and other healthy snacky foods. just a suggestion. but not eating is the worst thing to do to your body

Don't skip meals . That will only slow down your metabolism, which will end up making you gain weight.Skipping meals never helps you to lose weight. It confuses the body, causing your metabolism to slow down and preventing you from burning enough calories the next time you eat. In short, skipping meals can actually help you to gain weight.
In fact eating smaller, more frequent meals keeps your metabolism charged up and helps in weight loss.
Instead of skipping meal, eat something light .It is good to eat dinner at least 2-3 hours before you go to bed.

NO...please at least eat fruits and drink lots of water to keep yourself well hydrated..you may take stuffs like lassi and low fat fruit yoghurt for additional calcium that not only safeguards your metabolism but also sustains muscle strength and health of joints..good luck
