You can safely lose 2 pounds a week?!

Question: Is there a reason why with sensible eating and exercise that my body wont even lose 2 pounds a week? I've kept a log since October of how much weight I've lost and my average weight lost is 4-6 pounds a month, and this is with very healthy choices in eating and working out 6-7 days a week sometimes twice burning at least 500 calories. So why am I losing at such a slow pace? Any advise, I haven't lost 1 pound in the past 12 days and I'm getting really frustrated.

Relax, it sounds like you are on the right track but must find some additional patience. Your weight loss is slow enough to ensure two things: you are losing mainly fat and not lean body mass (muscle and water) and you will most likely keep the weight off. The slower you lose weight the more likely you are to do it the right way. A 2 pound per week loss of body fat is under ideal circumstances. It sounds like you are close enough to the ideal that you shouldn't worry.
If you have hit a plateau, it sounds like you have, you may need to simply make a change to your program (diet or exercise). You mentioned burning 500 calories in one workout. That is great but you can do much more. Try increasing your exercise intensity slightly and be sure that you are taking in enough calories to fuel the workouts. You can speak with a real personal trainer to help with more specific detail. Good luck

run daily, do chin ups, sit ups, push ups. eat healthy

exercises that burn your calories and plenty of fluid intake.

DIfferent people lose different amounts of weight. Some people can lose up to 4 pounds a week from doing less than you do. It also could be that you are gaining muscle.

You can lose more than two pounds in a week. Do sit ups, run on the treadmill. I'd prefer you jug round the street where you live. or go to a field and Jog.

If you are working out to the extent you are and dont have any thyroid or other metabolic/hormonal issues.....

Look at your diet.

What do you consider *sensible* ?

Can you give us an idea of what your daily food sources are?

unfortunately some people don't lose weight as fast as they'd like its all to do with ur metabolism's ( i think that's the correct word ) Look it up !

sorry if i haven't helped you at all =[

also try doing a different exorcise egg : instead of running jog ( jogging berms more carbs for some reason )

Maybe the increased exercise is causing you to gain muscle and lose fat and since muscle weighs much more than fat does, if you're losing fat and gaining muscle, your weight will remain the same.

have you tried switching up your exercises.Your body hit its equilibrium. Its time to do other cardio workouts and other exercises that tone. You body got use to what you were originally doing.

Just stick whatever diet and exercise you have right now,be patient the more you rush and check everyday if you lose weight or not the more you cant see any result..

People lose weight at different pases, and if there are no hidden calories in your diet, then the only thing I can think of it that you have been building muscle as fast as you've been burning fat.

When you weight train (to tone) along with cardio (to burn fat) you become more lean and you see it in your body but the scale may not reflect that. Don't become frustrated as long as you're noticing a change in you body.
