How many calories should you eat per day if...?!
Question: You have a thyroid problem? I have always been told I have hyperthyroid problem but the last time I went to get it checked I was extremely sick and asked to see if I still have the thyroid problem she told me its actually HYPO this time. So I'm wondering, should I eat less since my metabolism is slow from this? I'm thinking? Like under 1200 calories per day?

Even with hypothyroidism, you should never eat less than 1200 calories a day. Your body needs that to function. You'll actually slow down your metabolism even more if you eat less than that. Just watch what you eat, and exercise regularly..even if it's a light workout (I know how hard it is to exercise when you're hypo, and have little or no energy).
Yes 1200 is a healthy calorie limit.
my mom has hypothyroidism, she eats normally, the doctor said that you are not supposed to eat iodized salt though so she eats kosher salt instead
yea u must maintain about 1200 calories per day
it is very tough to eat under 1200 calories per day, im thinking more to the 2000 calorie side
