16 months ago I weighed 13 stone 2lbs. I am only 5ft 4 ins. So I was overweight. I now weigh 9 stone. It took me just over 6 months to lose the weight. I dropped 4 dress sizes. The results are absolutely amazing. This is my story.

I had struggled with my weight for many years, particularly after the birth of my 4 boys. I had tried (almost) every diet. Yes, they did work, whilst I was on them. But like so many other people, as soon as I stopped all the weight piled back on again plus more.

I knew I was eating far too much, and many of the wrong foods. So I came to the conclusion that I would go about and change my lifestyle.

So I decided to eat healthy and embark on some regular exercise. I set myself a goal to lose 4 stone.

I kept all junk foods, ready made meals you buy in the supermarket, alcohol, and takeaway meals to an absolute minimum. These I knew are high in refined sugar and full of saturated fat. They add pounds to the waistline.

I included more wholefoods into my diet. Such as brown bread, brown pasta, beans & pulses, and brown rice. These are high in fibre and keep you feeling fuller for longer.

I eat only:-
Lean meats (nothing with fat on), poultry (no skin on), fish with scales on (not breadcrumbs), eggs, plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables (including potatoes), changed from full fat milk to skimmed milk (has just as much calcuim in), low fat dairy products, non sugary cereals.

Cut my portion sizes down, snacked on fresh fruit in between meals (not biscuits etc), stopped eating when I felt full.

But most importantly of all I think. I joined a gym. I attended 4/5 times a week for 1 hour at a time. I know that this helped acelerate my weight loss. I now run outside and have entered myself into a 10K Charity Event run. I still also attend the gym regularly. Which believe it or not, I really enjoy.

I have now for 10 months been able to maintain my weight with ease. I now know what I have to do to remain slim. I have never felt so healtjy. I have so much more energy. I feel happier and so much more confident.

With lots of determination. It is possible to achieve your goal. The challenge is keeping the weight off.

Yes, I do have a couple of biscuits, a few glasses of wine, chocolate, etc, but only in MODERATION. MODERATION is the key. Diets don't work. I stick to the 80/20 plan. I am really good 80% of the time, the other 20% I treat myself.

EXERCISE is so important too. It helps greatly when trying to lose weight and helps to sustain the weight also.

no i didnt keep it off
its too hard to do that

Hey girl...I lost ten already on Phentermine. My doctor prescribed it to me. I had to beg her for it. I only need to lose about 20 tops, then I'll be back in a size 6. It works for me. I like it. It curbs my appetite which I always struggle with and give me more energy without making me jittery. My doctor took my blood pressure, an EKG, etc., before allowing me to go on it to make sure it was okay. So under her direction, I'm losing it!

Weight watchers is pretty much the same thing its all about eating the basic food groups and staying away from fried foods, junk food, and eating fruits and veg. and of coarse exercise, start by walking around the block, parking farther away from the door and taking the stairs.Denise autin has a 30 min. exercise show on t.v. at 7:30 in the morning that is great. I'm 49 and still losing.
