How do you get yourself motivated to start working out again?!


Question: I used to work out at least 5 times a week, and I was so motivated! But some things have happened to where I had to cut down, and eventually I just stopped.

Do you have any tips on getting motivated again?

I was working out 5 times a week last year when I tore some muscles in my calf and ankle(plethaurus and other muscles I can't remember). Also my mother herniated two disks in her back and taking care of her became a full time job. My metabolism slowly started to decline. My motivation is this. I don't want to look good for other people(well I guess maybe everybody wants to look good to others), but I want to look good for me. I want to feel allright with who I am. It was hard but now I am pushing myself to work out at least 3 to 4 times a week now that the muscles and mother have finally healed . I am starting to feel better about who I am. That alone is motivation enough for me. It also helps to stay spiritually fit. When you are right with God, He motivates you to take action as well.

Motivation is based on feelings.
Replace that with ---which means you do it despite how you might feel.
I made a commitment to do it and I do it no matter how I feel. And I'm always much happier when I do it.

look in the mirror and thing about how fat and disgusting you are. then just got to the gym. just get up and do it. it doesn't matter if you do it right or wrong just that you do it. dont over think things and then end up waiting so long you dont do it.

Make yourself do it. Just like getting up in the mornings to go to work. As bad as you hate to get up and go you still have to.
