How many situps a day must I do to see a difference in my stomach?!

Question: Lots of people have told me 20 situps a day will make a difference, is that true? If not what is the least amount that will? I know that sounds lazy but damn situps really suck!!!

Ok well first don't do sit ups, you won't see a difference. Do crunches you see results faster and they work the muscles in your stomach more that regular sit ups don't. If you haven't done these before start off with 50 reps. Count up tp 25 and the back down, this is a better way of counting because you have a finish zone. Least amount would probably be 100, less won't give you results. Do these twice a day everyday until your satisfied. However these results will go away without the continuation of these muscles working.

when i get inspired i do 100 everynight. that will be crazy good for your abs, however, you wont physically see anything if u've still got a good layer of fat covering it

you should start with 20 and start going up little by little GOOD LUCK

I used to do 300/day. That worked.

if you want to make a big difference in ur abs, you should run every morning, eat 3-4 meals a day and do 20-30 situps every night, then relax

it depends on your own body and whether you have the form. make sure you have the form, go slow don't go fast. Do as much as you can until you are tired. each day do the same amount or better, more than what you did the day before. i'm positive you will see results just keep with it!

Dont do situps do crunches basically the same thing but more effective and do 100 a day for o say a few months and you can do them in sets of 50 or 25

Actaully you can do as many as you like increasing the number the fitter you get. Start out on a small number and increase by one or two Daily. Good Luck.

3 sets of 20 when you wake up and before you go to bed or eat dinner.

Do 900 and you'll really feel different !

10 Really Slow ones.. Count to 12 on each one.

Until your muscle fatigue.

do what you can do. start out with about 20 then after a while you will be able to do more each day. thats wat i did.

If you want to have ripped abs or at least a nicely formed pack.

Then you need to start burning fat by doing cardio workouts. You cannot gain wanted results if you only restrict yourself to do sit ups.

For ab routines, its best for you to also include leg lifts [To work out the abdominal muscles that are the lowest]

also do some sit up twist and alternate from left to right to work out the obliques.

What you do is lay down with hands under your but. Legs together and start lifting them 6 inches off the ground. Do about 12 repetitions of each set. If you can handle more just adjust the repetitions to your fitness level. The last sets of abdominal workouts should be done until failure.

During work outs always breath, or else your body will become very tense. Breathing will help you do abdomial workouts to your full potential. Remember to keep hydrated too.

You do 3 sets of each abdominal workout and 45 seconds of rest in between sets.

I also realized that doing various abdominal exercises and changing routines will get you the best results. There are hundreds of ab workouts on the web so you can check them out.

well i did gymnastics, so i would say do 3 sets of 30 a day if you really want to see a difference. if its too hard start of with about 3 sets of 15 a day then do more and more.

good luck.

So far, i do 25 crunches normal, then 25 to the right & 25 to the left. Also, leg ups help the lower abs (lift your legs 6 inches off the ground, up & back down) do several of those. There are many other exercises you can do to get abs quicker.

idk how old you are, but if your young, this site will help you out:

=)

you cant depend on situps alone you need a good diet and you need to work more than your stomach for a difference. It all depends on how fast you want a change. I have been doing about 30-40 situps a day and the results are very slow so if you want them fast you might wanna go a quite a bit more than 20. But dont over do it.

well if you got low fat% then 4 sets of 20 crhunches every other day should do the trick

sorry. I forgot to add that it had to do with cardio, to lose weight.
so running, speed walking, swimming.
alll cardio. :]

We all have abs under however much fat we have on our stomachs. Doing sit-ups alone will make very little difference in the appearance of your stomach. The most important part of improving how our stomachs look is reducing body fat. The Easiest way I can think of that will make a noticeable difference with a minimal amount of time invested would be this:

Go to a running track, Sprint the length of the track as quickly as you can, jog the rest of the lap at an easy pace, and when you catch your breath, sprint again. Do this for 20 minutes three times per week. Of course, none of this matters if you are over-eating, or eating junk food.

The number is not as important as the form you use:

Keep your upper body in a straight line don't bunch up or bend over, this will ensure that you are using your ab muscles and not your neck and shoulder muscles.

Also, s...l....o...w down on the down, don't just fall backwards use your ab muscles to slowly lay back.

20 sit ups like this will do more than 100 sit ups with poor form!!

For best results get a large yoga ball and do your sit ups on that, it allows you to go further back stretching out your muscles and makes them l.....o......n.......g.....e......r.and leaner!!!

i know it really sucks and i once even recorded 300 at a time but if u know sit ups is the most ineffective way to get abs .If ur trying to tone ur abs then do these for abt 2-3 weeks to get em
20 knee ups a day
20 leg ups a day
20 upside down cycles a day
20 hip thrusts a day
20 reverse crunches a day
20 leg touch on couch
20 cross crunches[10 on each side]
20 reach and touch[10 on each side]
20 cross legged reverse crunches[10 on each side]

One thing that will help you lose weight: a colon cleanse. I was one of those who did not believe in them until I tried it. And I tried a few until I found a great one that works (its all natural too! - it's just pills, but you'll detox, lose weight, and fell much, much better). You can go to
