I've been swimming... and I am getting hungrier??!

Question: Hey guys... I've always worked out 4-5 times a week (for the past 2 1/2 years). But I suffered a back injury about a month ago and I am only allowed to swim (Dr.'s orders). So I have been swimming for the last two week now, but I have noticed that I am getting really hungry. Does it have to do anything with swimming or not ?? Or should I explore other options as to why I am hungrier??? Thank you !!!

i've read in workout magazines, that since you are in the cool/cold water your body makes you think you are hungrier since it usually cools down your body temp. the magazine recommended carrying a low cal snack for after you are done swimming and try to have a healthy snack before you go, so you don't feel like you are super hungry. i used to swim a ton when i was a kid and always felt like i was starving afterwards

Since swimming requires a whole body work out, it is likely that this is causing you to become more hungry. And if you've just started working out again that may contribute to it as well.
I wish I was a swimmer - I just can't get the right form. :-] good luck.
