Answers: For an extended period of time? Does your body need calories to absorb nutrients?

The kilocalorie (or Calorie with a capital "C") is a measure of the chemical heat energy contained in a substance. In this context, the energy value of food.

Just as you car requires gasoline to move, you need food to power your muscles and brain.

Fat is stored fuel. If you eat less than you need to power daily activities, your body uses stored fat to make up the difference. If you eat little or nothing, fat conversion is not fast enough to cover everything, so your body will consume some muscle tissue as well.

Your brain is pound for pound the largest consumer of carbohydrate fuel. Again, in a starvation situation, you probably won't be thinking real clearly, and if you starve long enough, the brain damage can become permanent.

Your body needs calories to function. You won't be able to get appropriate nutrients without adequate caloric intake, even if you take a bunch of supplements.

Your body will start burning and breaking down your muscle and using it for fuel and storing as much of the food as fat as it can. This will make you skinny fat.

you would die

the body will catabolize muscle proteins to manufacture glucose for energy.

If you get enough nutrients, automatically you will get sufficient calories as well. Nutrients, thereby, calories, we get from food which we in take. Contents of calories and nutrients vary according to the type of food, some food is rich in calories, some of them very poor. That is the only difference.

If we don't receive sufficient energy, which we receive from our daily food, we will become fatigue, causes muscle cramps, finally we will fall into bed.

Your body needs calories for energy and you need energy just to breathe. After a long period of time you would eventually die.
