eat small portions throughout the day.

I think if you eat only 1200 calories a day you could. However if you put some exercise in you should eat about 1500 calories since you will be burning some as well.
Also: Drink alot of water and green tea each day. And maybe cut out sugar and eat bread earlier in the day. All the best to ya!
