If you fall off your diet, what do you do to kick start it again?!

Question: When I fall off my diet, it's either because I'm stressed out & start overeating my "comfort" foods, or else because I'm overindulging my cooking/bartending hobbies--I do this when I've got company coming & also when nobody's coming, so I get bored & start experimenting...& eating & drinking my experiments. To kick start my diet, either I have to find activities that get me out of the house & nowhere near a restaurant or bar--like hiking, or museum-exploring, or there's a great dance studio here that has public dance parties with no alcohol & just light snacks--or I have to get absorbed in at-home hobbies that keep me out of the kitchen, like art or gardening projects. Personally, I think a lot of diet systems fail because they're focused on food!!!--it's all about low-cal recipes & such, so there you are in the supermarket shopping for your recipes or in the kitchen cooking them, & all you think about is food, food, food. If you talk to naturally skinny people, they just don't think about food that much. So I think the best strategy is just keep yourself out of eating environments & keep your mind too busy to think of food.

You eat good yummy flavored things.

the depressing feeling that i am fat.

look at myself in the mirror...

I get up early and take a nice long run.

Afterward I feel so good I don't want to eat any junk for the rest of the day!

Start fresh the next day, try to forget about it and not feel guilty.

I just got right back into routine. A lot of people (myself included) fell off over the Easter holiday. Starting Monday, I just whooped myself right back into it. If you stop and think too much about it, you'll spend all of your time thinking and not enough time doing.

You do 150 crunches and 50 push ups... Go on then!

"just do it!" -Michael Jackson

you stop eating and starve yourself again,
DUHH

just wake up the next day knowing its a new day and you cant change what you ate the days before. Also get out more, when im home i find myself eating alot more!
