How much would i lose in phase 1 of the south beach diet? i'm 5'3 and 12!

it's different for everyone. no one can give you an exact answer except for you, once you've done it. everyone's metabolisms are different. you're already at a pretty low weight for your body height so it will probably take you longer to lose. now, if you were 200lbs at 5'3, you could expect to lose about 10lbs.

i'd say just a couple of pounds. you already are at a pretty good weight for your height, i'd just cut out the sugar and starches if you find yourself eating those. drink TONS of water; it really is a good way to lose.

All you will lose during phase 1 is water weight that you will soon regain.

In phase one you lose about 10 lbs. of water and fecal matter.
When you return to a normal healthier way of eating you gain it all back plus a couple of pounds.

well i dont know how much you would lose, but everyone! ive known who has gone on the diet has been extremely successful in very short periods of time. you really get instant results!
