I am very similar to yourself. I am 6 - 1 and only 140. For the past 3 weeks I have been eating more while lifting weights and I gained 5 pounds!!! The thing that did it for me is eating THROUGHOUT the day. I never let my stomach go empty, or make the noise it makes when you get hungry. That means your empty so your body starts eating "itself", which takes up stored calories. Another thing that has helped me is a good book I bought....it's called Scrawny to Brawny lol. But its true and it is specifically made for those who are tall and have high metabolisms, like us. While I eat throughout the day I eat foods high in calories and carbs. When I play basketball or lift weights, I eat a little more before and after my work outs to put back those calories I used up playing. Good Luck!

I came across this program on this website thats called no nonsense muscle bulding and it helps try it out.

Eat lots of carbs.
Mostly pasta.

more protein and lift weights

get ur lift on

- eat 5-6 meals per day
- every meal should include protein (egg, chicken, meat,...), vegetables and fruts
- reduce your fat intake.

To gain weight, you should increase the number of calories in your daily diet by about 300 calories. These extra calories should be part of a balanced diet. Proteins are required for building muscles, so having high protein foods like eggs, milk, peanut butter, protein shakes will help.
