How can I cut back on my over-eating habits?!


Question: I over-eat quite often---instead of having snacks when I'm just a little bit hungry, I have a bagel with cream cheese or something...

I'm open to substitutes.

I have the same exact problem! I just have food for the sake of eating it. When I'm a little hungry I'll just try to hold off until a meal or eat something really small (like a 100 calorie pack they have those everywhere now). And basically I just told myself if I was gonna grab food too snack it would HAVE to be a fruit/vegetable and not anything else. Or everytime I'd have an urge to eat uneeded food I'd go take a walk instead.

It's easier said than done, though. That's the hard part :/

when you want a snack, drink a full large glass of water first....usually gets rid of the hunger feeling.

i do the same thing, lucky for me i havnt gotten fat from it but its still unhealthy. what has helped me is drinking tea. hot tea makes me feel more satisfied as if i just ate something.

well, first instead of having 3 large meals, its healthier to have 6 small meals. also whenever your hungry or have the munchies, drink a glass of water or eat some celery. also on your six small meals, make them healthy. bagel and cream cheese sounds good, but maybe a whole grain bagle with some strawberry cream cheese! good luck!

I suggest you never eat in front of the tv. It's mindless eating, meaning you keep eating without realizing you are full or have lost your appetite for the snack. Instead, try drinking a few ounces of juice, or even tea, to stave away hunger.
