I started a CRASH DIET today...HELP!!?!

Okay so i KNOW im "healthy", but i NEED to tone up by MAY 1st!!!! ALL these years of my life, I've been looking like a fat lil girl in a bikini, but THIS year wont be the same, I started a crash diet today, where i don't have more than 300 calories a day...(I ALREADY LOST 2lbs IN 10 HOURS! My belly even looks flatter!) But I NEED SOME GOOD advice on how to lose 10lbs by MAY 1ST. If I don't, I HAVE to continue this crash diet. ANY ADVICE?!

you do know that your liver holds about 5 pounds of emergency water and vitamins? hence your two pound weight loss. the absolute most you will lose by may 1st will be about 7 pounds. your body replaces your liver loss.

Crash diets always backfire. You're hurting yourself and messing up your metabolism. If you wear a size 3, how fat can you be? It sounds like you have a body image problem, not a weight problem.

eat healthy and exercise.. crash diets screw up your metabolism so if you don't crash for the rest of your life you will end up bigger than you are now...

Here is the best advice you'll get. STOP that diet right now.

Keep eating healthy and start working out. Run every morning and do cardiovascular exercises.

That diet is very unhealthy and will just make it impossible to keep the weight off once you stop the diet. You definitely don't need to limit your calorie intake to just 300. All you need to do is exercise off more calories than you eat. Moderate exercise and moderate dieting will help you lose weight by May 1st.

PS: Shoodawg does not know what s/he is talking about. The average adult consumes between 2000-3000 calories per day (rough estimation). My yorkie eats more than 300 calories per day.

well crash dieting isnt going to put you in shape, youll just be flabby cause you are losing both muscle and fat, be smart and exersize....plus you are 14, if you want someone to tell you you look good, get a boyfriend.

omg you don't need to crash diet because you will still look flabby and not toned, seriously eat lots of protein and go to the gym and to sit-ups, push ups and work out with light weights. trust me crash diets do not work, i have done them before and i have had to go to the hospital. Your brains and organs cannot function and that few of calories and pretty good your body will work against you and it will store those 300 calories as fat and you will end up not losing weight and gainging it. Its not worth it.

Well, I gotta tell ya, that isn't a very bright thing to do. You won't be able to keep weight off that way. That 2 lbs you lost is probably just water weight, not fat. I'll tell you what I tell everyone: eat 1200 calories (lots of fruits and veggies), and exercise. Exercise is probably best for you, since you want to tone up.

Honestly, dont crash diet.
the weight is water weight and comes back straight when u finish your diet (probably 1st day at the beach)
you are a great size and just need to TONE probably.
find the areas u want to tone, and lok up on google or yahoo

you do that. youre a little chubby but listen up. in a time period of more than 2 days, if you adjust to eating 300 calories a day, your body will adapt to burning that much. if you adjust to 200 calories, your body will adapt to burning that much. as long as you dont eat over 2000 calories youre fine. work out, run, cardio...all these simple things help you tone and lose more than a crash diet.

800 calories and mostly protien should be your goal. Anything below 800 will make you gain weight in the long run. Drink 8 glasses of water per day.

crash dieting isnt healthy. but i feel as if i cant change your mind in this. if you really want to crash diet, at least make yourself feel full. try this recipe. it may seem and look gross. but it isnt really that bad.

put it in a blender. and drink it. its little calories. and one cup will make you full

I would tell you how bad that is but, I'm 13, 5'4 and 120 pounds. Keep doin that, but after a week, your body realizes its starving itself and wont burn calorires, and soo you'll have to eat 1200 calories a day to burn. Drink at least 8 glasses of water try for more, no pop or anything else. When you do eat eat dannon 45 calore yogurt, or an apple or banaana. Crackers and penut butter are light but filling. Good luck, we'll both look sexy in are bikinis this year!

Starving your body just slows down your metabolism, reducing weight loss. When you starve your body (which you are doing quite significantly) your body will eat its own muscle - losing muscle tone, and any fat you do consume will be stored because you body is trying to prevent you from starving to death. I lost 4 inches off my waist and 3 off my butt in 8 weeks by eating normally, and going swimming and jogging every day. Starving yourself will not work in the long term and probably make things worse.

crash diets don't work. BELIEVE ME. The key to losing weight is eating , and MODERATE notice I say MODERATE excercise 30 minutes a day is all you need a good bike ride a brisk walk, or swimming, but you don't have to beat yourself to death
I lost 25 pounds since the middle of January by moderately excercising and following a sensible diet

No sweets
NO fried foods
no rice no white potatoes
no pasta
no white bread

whole wheat bread is okay, instead of chips have baked crackers.
It's not about starving and crash diets it's about using common sense when you eat

You aren't fat and it is all in your head. Don't worry about image so much. And don't crash diet it'll lead to bad things. I say forget the whole 300 calorie thing and just eat healthy foods. Start jogging everyday after school and you will loose weight. And if you want to tone, do push-ups, sit-ups, etc. But, if you ask me your fine. Just have fun being a kid, your only one for so long.

I am in the EXACT same situation as you!

What I do is drink water when im hungry because it fills up you stomach and eases hunger pains. If you still hungry after that try fruit juice- it works!

Also... Celery, cucumbers and carrots have 0 calories! ( and marshmellows only have 20!) remember to graze and eat little things alot throughout the day, instead of one big meal- it increases your metabolism.

Well I'd have to start of by saying that isn't a healthy way to lose the weight at all, may seem like its working but eventually your body will start to store what fat you have, which is what you want to get rid of I'm assuming. Fat is used as a long term storage, your body will slowly burn that off as a last resort as your body doesn't know when it will eat again. If anything eat 5-6 small meals or snacks rather throught out the day, that will keep your metabolism going which is good for loosing weight, drink water, not in excess, just enough to keep you hydrated. Of course excercise is always a good thing, not just sit-ups either, cardio must be implemented as well, all the sit-ups in the world won't do you any good without the cardio, I'd say to alternate sit-ups every other day and do different types of sit-ups, not just the same ones over-and-over as your body gets use to it then it just becomes routine. Doing sit-ups every other day will give your body time to rebuild itself, that's what exercise is, breaking your muscles down and building them back up so that they are that much stronger. Lifting weights before doing cardio has actually been proven to increase your weight loss as opposed to just doing cardio or weight lifting alone, the weights will tone your body as well. Size 3 man that's crazy, you trying to get to a zero, turn sideways and you disappear.
