Looking to lose some weight...?!

Question: So, I'm a teenager, and I'm about 10 lbs. overweight, no BIG deal, but I know I don't feel as good as I could, and with summer coming, it'd be nice to feel good about myself. Anyway, I want to do it healthy... any tips????

I'm 5'3 and weigh 125 lbs. YUCK.

alex,
people haev different expectations and also different skeletal builds....maybe she has a very small frame and weighs that much but you have a larger frame and looks healthy and fine.

anyway to awsner your question.

the most effective way to lose it for good (no fad diets) is to lower your calory intake.

whatever it recommends, down it by 200 or so depending how comfortable u are. go down too much, you will feel too stressed and wil give up...take it step by step. eat more small meals maybe 5 meals a day if u can.....this keeps your blood sugars constant and so u dont store fat on big meals 3 times a day. this is why sodas and junk food is bad for u it spikes your blood sugar and makes u store fat. (DO NOT MISS BREAKFAST. your body is starving after u wake up and if u skip breakfast not only do u feel tired but your lunch will be put into fat cuz your body thinks ure starving) dont the foods you eat should be whole grain, low fat and healthy. cut out junk food and sodas....drink water water and more water.
go workout! lean muscle from doing light weights raises your metabolism....go do something active like sports or biking...someting for cardio to burn off those calories.

excercise at least 4 times a week, reduce your calories by lowering fat and carbs (not completely) and you will see results for sure.

br@ski please dont copy and paste another 1 of your dieting posts....your tips suck to be honest please do some realistic research before u tell people things

You are definitely not 10 pounds overweight. If you check out BMI charts on the Internet, it will show you that you are in the right range of weight and height. I'm only 5 foot 2 and weigh that much, and my doctor says it's perfectly healthy. You do not need to lose weight.
