Are spinning classes / indoor/ studio cycling any good?!


Question: i saw someone doing one for a split second on t.v and it seems really good, but then i only saw a split second

also what should i where to one? cycling shorts make me cringe! i think everyone else might be cringing too if i wore a pair!

It's my new favorite form of cardio (I get bored easily and this prevents it AND kicks my butt) and I never wear the shorts...too short, too tight, too revealing...I wear capri gym pants for comfort and they don't ride up.

Anyway, I take the classes 2-3 times per week at my local gym. Generally you have to join a gym ot YMCA/YWCA to participate unless you want ot go out and invest in s areal mountain bike and do your own "spinning"

I attented a spinning class at the fitness first gym.
It was fantastic, quite hard at first but it was fun and a good work out.
Im just dissapointed they dont do it at the gym I go to now.
I just wore joggers and a t shirt.

You don't have to wear the shorts. I didn't like spinning, i felt like the bike seat was really hard and painful to sit on after a little while, and i was uncomfortable being in the same position for an hour.

spinning is a great workout and really gets your heart going. Just wear your normal gym gear.

Spinning classes are awesome !!!!!!!!
They burn soooo much calories and work great on legs.
But ......... do not do them too much if you want to loose fat around the legs. Spinning works out your legs so much that it makes them firm.
So if you want to burn loose the fat around your legs, thighs, and butt, go for it. But only about 1-2 times a week.
If you do not want to wear the cycling shorts... you could where regular shorts... with spandex underneath. Good luck.

i hated it, it really hurt my underneath bits!

I have just been to my spinning class. Its great, much more motivating than the normal gym. Good cardio.
