Why wont I gain weight?!

Question: Im 16 years old, 6'2', and only weigh about 140 pounds..

its ridiculous how skinny I am, considering I play basketball a few hours a day and eat like a pig.. you'd think I'd be more in shape!

does anyone have any advice on things to eat or things to stop eating so I can gain weight?

Metabolism is what is keeping you from gaining any weight. I have a couple friends who are the same way. A good way to gain weight and to not get fat is to start working out at the gym to build muscle

You could stop at your local GNC or other drug store, get a protein, that will help you gain muscle mass if you are that determined. Be sure to use it after you work out or finish a game of basketball.

well there may be a number of reasons, but you sound like my little brother. he cannot for the life of him gain waight! and we just found out a couple months ago that he has a thing called ciliac disease, its a disease where your body cannot process any foods with gluten or wheat. and this eventually eats away at all your fat...so he has to be on a "gluten free diet". you may want to see you doctor...

try eating more protein--you can buy protein shake mix too--especially eat more protein after any exercise--go to menshealth.com and they should be able to advise you on what you should eat---if it doesn't work or start working within two weeks, then I would go to dr--but it also wouldn't hurt to go and get a thorough check up anyway--there could be a reason for you not gaining.
