I know this is a little shallow.... But can you help me??!

Question: I am 4'8" or so, but I have a bit of a "gut". It's spring break, and I've been doing some good excersises to help out. Do you know any good ones that help my thighs and "tummy" that have good effects? It doesn't necessarily have to work fast; I'm patient. Just something that can tone me up a bit in time for Summer vacation, and in time for the last day of school. We get to swim and I already bought a bikini that I would love to wear. I hope I gave you guys enough info. Thanks in advance! :)

skipping is an exellent exercise. skip hard for 30 seconds, 20 seconds rest. Repeat that so you've skipped for roughly 10 minutes.

Sit ups, trap your feet under something, hands behind your head, slowly build and don't over-do it because it really hurts the next day.

Leg raises, lie on your side, support you head with one arm and lift your top leg up, keeping it straight and hold. repeat 8 times and swap.

Forward squats, bend your knees but don't let your butt go down further than your knees, - bad for them.

Try getting an exercise ball aswell, they come with a leaflet of exercises to do and are very good for toning.

When doing these, slowly increase the Frequency, Intensity and the Time so that your body doesnt get used to the exercise - keep building.

Eat healthily (your recommended daily ammounts) and drink atleast 2L of water a day.

luck!

Just work your abs and your obliques. You'll be fine!

You can't get a 6 pack with abdominal exercises, unless you do them in conjucntion with exercising the muscles below the nose and above the chin correctly :)

You can't spot reduce fat. You have to reduce overall body fat and often the fat around the middle is the last to release.

I also tell my clients to eat smaller meals more times (5-6) per day. When a body is starved it will store fat. When it believes that times are good (when it's being feed good nutrition often) it will release fat.

I have written a page focusing on a 3 pronged approach dealing with Detoxing, Nutrition and Exercise (especially body weight exercises, which you can do in your home).

Good luck!

This is the website to go. Hope it will help ;-)

Girl, in gym class we do curl-ups. To work on your thighs and stomach more you do the extreme curl-ups. Each time you move you count to three. Going 1/3 the way up then 2/3 the way up the 3/3 is you being completely up like a sit up. Then you do the opposite back down until you get back on the floor like you starting a sit up.

its harddd to explain with out showing butttt...
the bridge its yoga. you hold your body straight like a bridge with your elbows on the floor and your feet holding the rest of your body up. itssss amazing if you do that up to 5 min. a day your abs should start to show up

for the side... love handels. the regular sit up but when you go up cross your hands to the opposite knee. 60 times.

pushups work your abs believe it or not.
specially that lower gut that i hate so much.
you do 15. (realll man pushups no girly )
you go down hold for three seconds and bak up and down for three seconds ect.

for your thigs, inner thighs, glutes... theres no way i could like type up how to do it... but look up zumba abs things glutes workout its AMAZZZINGGG!

That's great that you care to improve your body and aren't looking for fast results.

The best ab exercises I know are using the big ball (jazzercise balls or something) and doing crunches that way. Since it hyperextends your body, you are working harder for the crunch. Also, a technich I recently heard of was just flexing your stomach muscles while doing simple things like texting on your cell or washing dishes.

I had a big gut as a teen, and I would go walking or running and the whole time I would hold my stomach in (or keep it flexed and not relaxed) and that was what worked for me. It took me like one to two weeks doing a mile or two miles a day and flexing my stomach the entilre time, and I looked great! You should try that! It's hard the first couple of times but you get used to it.

DDR friend :)

Dance Dance Revolution strengthens your stomach, that is if you are playing hardcore enough

I have always done plain 'ol sit- ups. they work even though people like to bash 'em.
