What do I do?! I feel terrible...?!

Question: I'm 5'4 and I just recently lost a lot of weight, reaching my goal of 120 pounds. I have been eating very healthfully, and exercising everyday, and all was great. However, then spring break came along. For the last three days I have been binge eating like mad. It's always been a problem of mine, and I just felt so bad for eating more than usual, that I went over the edge and couldn't stop. I ate every kind of chocolate thing you could imagine. Pizza, cookies, cakes, by the dozens. I feel very sick and full...I know that I've probably gained about 5 pounds just in the last couple days. It's my fault, and it's too late to complain. I need to get back into my healthy ways. It will probably take me weeks to undo the damage. Please, what are some ways I can motivate myself to eat better, and get out of this bad habit? I don't want to gain back the 25 pounds I worked so hard to lose.

i did the EXACT same thing a couple weeks ago. and guess what, today ive managed to get back the weight i was before i binged :)

so honestly ALL you have to do. is wake up tomorrow morning and remember its fresh new day to start on your diet again. just dont even think about how you have been eating bad. and if you get right back on your diet and excersize plan.. your weight will be back to normal within about a week :) you just have to relax, because the key for me was i didnt even think about how bad i messed up on my diet. i pretended like i never got off it, and it made it alot easier for me to motivate myself to back on track of being healthy again.

It won't take you weeks to undo 3 days worth of damage. Don't beat yourself up about it because that'll make you feel worse and you're more likely to eat more. Just draw a line under it and carry on with your diet. You've done fantastically so far and there's no reason why a few days should ruin your motivation.
Try to see it as a small break from your diet which was well deserved after all your hard work!
Keep up the healthy eating and don't worry, everyone indulges once in a while!
Good luck. X

try the SELF magazine challenge. You get support with message boards, and also graphs and charts of your progress. It helps me stay motivated for sure!

It's okay to eat ANYTHING you want at anytime you want. The key is, is to STOP when you're full. Eat slow bites. Chew each bite 20 times. Put your silverware down and enjoy every bite, even if it looks silly. Try not to eat in front of the T.V. or while you're occupied because it causes you to eat fast and to overeat. If anything, eat in moderation.

Then, try walking an extra mile a day.

dont be self concious like i know your being, 125-150 pounds is average, just dont eat a lot and exercise normally not like a body builder, all you need is 5-30 minutes a day of exercise and healthy meals, its ok to splurge every month or two
