Is There Anything Wrong With This Diet?!

Question: My co worker said that she is gonna go on a fruit, vegetable, and meat diet. Meaning that she is only going to eat fruits and vegetables and some choice meats for the protein...will this help her lose weight healthily? It seems like it wouldn't be...but then again...i don't know...

It is an okay diet but it can be a lot better. Well first of all eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Not as much meat, but you do need all the protein. But she also needs some dairy like maybe those yogurt things like the light and fit yogurt. But she also needs grains! Doesn't she remembe the food pyramid!?! But then she will also need some excersice like just walking an hour every other day or something. Just look at the new food pryamid.

It sounds pretty normal, but she's missing the other food groups.

You should incorporate all food groups into a healthy diet.

its good,

I DONT KNOW

It sounds healthy.

she might need some other types of foods

Yeah. But she has to eat in the right time.

Sounds fine and healthy, sounds like a good change of diet.

it sounds good to me...they are getting all the dietary needs met with those three

i think that losing weight like that is wrong
ur coworker needs 2 stop eating junk food and not give up the 4 food groups
and she might neeed 2 consider some sort of daily physical activity

yes she is missing the bigest part, the grains, she will not be able to function normaly without grains or grain supliment

It is so easy to get caught up in whats considered to be a "fad" diet... It has been proven that a well balanced diet, whith the right amount of carbs and protiens along with excersize is the only true way of dieting... Some good diet plans that work are weight watchers or the south beach diet... Do some research before starting any diet because it could be very dangerous..... Good luck!!!

This will help her in the short run (Adkins), but it is not a healthy diet. Your body run on carbs only! Cutting them all out together will force your body to go into Ketosis. After a few weeks, you will be able to tell because her breath and even her body will be expelling EtOH or alcohol fumes. She will stink!
The base of anybody diet is complex carbohydrates followed bu veggies, fruits, protein, dairy, and oils (unsaturated).

I think it's fine. It actually does sound like a pretty healthy diet. Way better than what other people do to try to lose weight. But you should also tell her to exercise too.

Eating plenty of fruit and veggies is extremely good for you. The only thing she will have to be careful of is making sure she gets enough diary products for calcium and that she still is eating some meats. Check out http://www.alfitness.com.au for some great healthy diet advice.

No! she needs to put the other important food groups into her diet.

tell her thats good but also eat atleast an egg for brecky,a study showed women lost more wieght eating an egg than a wholegrain slice of toast.also tell her to take a multivitimin with calcium.she could be at risk of ostioporosis when she gets older.

It seems pretty healthy to me, but you may need fibre supplements it breads are left out of the food groups

Well, theres no carbs in that diet, or dairy. And without enough serving of dairy everyday your bones won't get the right amount of calcium. So I would say thats not the best diet to be on, its not really healthy. Your co-worker could probely loose weight on that diet though. Most fruits and vegitables are very low in calories. And meat will make you feel less hungry.

ch 71 on Sundays at 9:00 a really good show about all that sort
