I am 5'0 and I weigh 80 pounds plus I am 15 year old?!


Question: Yes I am underweight and a lot of people call me skinny. Which I am.
I was wondering how to I GAIN weight. I eat around 1200 calories a day.
I am chinese if that matters. AND NO not ALL chinese people are skinny and short.

Well, you should think about how you eat. To gain weight, you need to start eating more but healthier. I hope your eating doesn't cause you any problems like malnutrition, bone problems, stopped periods, or anything else. Eat high protein things like peanut butter, fish, chicken, etc. Also eat losts of wheats, vegies, and fruits. Don't over do the sugar cause i promise it can give you problems later! Take thses to your advantage because your weight should not be 80 especially at your age! If you work out, make sure you eat at least 2,000 cals. May seem a lot but it's the way to go. Increase your calories by eating more healthy fat--Salmon, avocado, nuts, ect. You could also try drinking meal replacement shakes in between meals to increase your calories.

Another option is to exercise, and gain weight by building muscle. Also, because of your ethnicity you are naturally smaller. There is nothing wrong with being small, especially if you are healthy at the weight that you are at. You should consult a doctor or a nutritionist because they can effectively help you gain weight, without harming your health.

I am 5 ft and 81 pounds, and I think I look fine. Your not underweight! But if you really think you need to gain weight try eating 1600 calories a day.

Don't just gain weight cause of what other people think, do what you think is best for you!

If you want to gain weight then do it, not cause someone tells you too. Unless you have an eating disorder or something.

Try eating fatty foods, and protein shakes and stuff.

I am the same height, and weight as you. I am 13 though. I think I look fine, so you probably are healthy too.
