it depends what rice it is but here

I heard brown rice is healthier but I like white rice better. I try to stay away from too much rice due to the high level of carbohydrates.

I really wouldn't know...yet my bf, who's a health freak, swears that it's really good for the body and that is doesn't have so many calories.

Try searching it. ^_^

The Difference Between Brown Rice and White Rice

Brown rice is simply white rice that has not had the bran covering the rice grains removed. Removing the bran is done so that the rice is fluffier and cooks faster. Since brown rice still has the bran intact, it is a much better source of fiber. In fact a cup of brown rice has three and one-half grams of fiber while white rice has less than one gram of fiber. We all need from 15 to 25 grams of fiber in our diet every day.
Another benefit from eating brown rice is caused by the fiber slowing down the absorption of carbohydrates. This will help tame the blood-sugar roller coaster that can happen from a high sugar-low fiber meal. Fiber also has a healthy effect on our cholesterol levels and may help to reduce this risk of cardiovascular disease.

Besides the fiber found in the brown rice, the bran contains nutrients like magnesium, manganese, and zinc. White rice has reduced levels of these nutrients, but is often fortified with iron, and some B vitamins.

white rice has no vitamins or minerals anymore so besides the calories (app. 160 - 200 cal) this is the thing you should be worried about. So you will not have to burn a lot of calories but you should eat some nuts and vegetables and fruits to make up for the nutrients you are missing.

White rice is definitely healthier than breath, but I would go for brown rice instead.

White rice is ok but not very nutritionally dense. It's also a high GI carb due to the removal of the fibrous husk found on brown rice. For optimal health, most carbs should come from low GI complex carbs in their natural whole food forms.

One cup of medium grain white rice contains about 240 calories. Keep in mind there is a lot more to bodyfat maintenance and reduction than simply cals in v. cals out.

well I was gonna answer it, but i like Shanti's answer the best. she's very in dept but straight to the point.

I was gonna say...white rice is still healthy but brown rice is better because they say that you don't gain as much carbs and also fiber is good for u because it helps with bowel movement, and dats a good thing. =)

its certainly better than junk food, but brown rice is even better. white rice isnt as good as brown rice because white rice has been processed more.

Steamed is the healthiest form of white rice, but in general brown rice is healthier, both because of the fiber and nutrients in brown rice.

It's high in calories. Brown rice is much healthier and much better for your body. White rice is delicious, I know! I eat it all the time but it's not that good for you. You can eat in once in a while like sushi, but other than that, eat brown rice. You should burn off atleast 150 calories because the rice has vinegar and sugar in it.
