What does a BMI of 17.7 mean? Please and thanks everyone:)?!

Question: A BMI of only 17,7 can cause some health issues due to underweight, for an adult person. It don't necessarily have to for children, as their body is developing, but it may depend on several factors such as bone structure, type of food etc etc.

If you eat healthy, the health issues will be decreased, but that BMI will still decrease the immune system of an adult, making it harder for your body to fight and prevent diseases. It will also be more difficult to gain muscles, and tiredness and headaches may occur. Keeping that BMI over time, may also cause other health issues including loss of menstruation, sterility, stomach problems and bone problems.

a bmi of 17.7 means that you are dangerously underweight. to be considered underweight, you must have a bmi of less than 18.5. in order to be considered a low enough weight for anorexia, your bmi must be 17.5. (eventhough having a 17.5 bmi does not mean you have an eating disorder).
however, bmi calculators are not always accurate. they should not be trusted if the majority of one's body is muscle mass, and a healthy set weight varies from person to person. therefore, eventhough you have a very low weight, it may or may not be a good weight for your body. in order to determine what is healthy for you, you should see a doctor during your next physical. btw, to calculate your bmi you can go here:

or you can calculate it manually by using this formula:

(weight in pounds * 703 )
