What should I do to keep myself comfortable at night?!


Question: I'm a teen, 14 years old to be exact. I wanna be thin but not super thin, I'm super lazy (yay! I finally admitted it after 12 years of denying it) and I hate working out cause of the sweat and time (even if I do have all the time in the world, I still don't want to) So, I just ate less since my mom told me that eat more but just smaller portions (diet fad, eat more yadda yadda) Anyway, I started eating less and I'm down to like one glass of water a day, at lunch even when I'm awake by 8am and a crab stick, yes..one measly crab stick. I guess it's because my mom hasn't gone grocery shopping yet, but when she buys food everyone (I have 3 siblings .....a brother who will eat anything!! and mom and dad of course) Like when I get to the fridge, it's empty again!! I have my own food like canned tuna and other canned foods (it's kinda like food territory) but I'm so sick of it. To be honest I'm not used to water, I grew up drinking nothing but iced tea! And it's working for me. but we're out.

Sweetheart, you need to visit your doctor. Goign hungry to lose weight is never a good idea. When you initially start a diet, you may be hungry for the first few days as you get used to eating less, but after that it's pretty easy, you just don't over do your portions. Look online at http://www.sparkpeople.com and see what healthy portion sizes are. It sounds to me as if you have not educated yourself on nutrition at all, as you don't sound like you are giving yourself enough food to give you energy to get through the day.
You should be drinking up to 8 cups of water a day to be healthy. Water should NEVER be a meal replacement, it should just go along with the meal.
Go see a doctor hon, and tell your mom how you are hungry all the time. How much do you weigh, by the way?
I am very concerned about you, it sounds like you may have a borderline eating disorder, or even full blown. Please take care of yourself, if hunger is keeping you awake, you are starving yourself, literally, and it's not worth sacrificing your health.
your mom is right. you should eat MORE OFTEN, not MORE. I lost weight by eating 6 times a day, but small portions, like half a turkey sandwich with a carrot stick, then half an apple and a chicken thigh a couple hours later, then a bowl of cottage cheese and fruit a couple more hours later, and I always feel satisfied. That way you are not hungry at all.
