I am 5'3 and weigh about a hundred pounds and I have the same problem. The only time my stomach is flat is when I first wake up in the morning. As soon as I drink anything or eat anything, no matter how small....it is bloated for the rest of the day. It really sucks! I think it is probably because we are so thin that it just shows up more when our stomachs have something in them. Also, I don't know about you, but I am pretty short waisted. And you know how a toddler's belly gets huge as soon as they eat anything because there isn't much room for the stomach organ to stretch in there? I think that is kind of how it is for me. Are you short waisted too?

You're bloated. Some foods, such as rice, pasta and noodles expand in your stomach and therefore cause the stomach to expand. You're small again in the morning because over the night the food was digested.
Food does take up space. Until you give it time to digest and move into the colon, you could see a little bulge.
