I cant stop eating when im not hungry!?!


Question: im always thinking about food and it sucks because tht means im always eating, i eat when im bored.
im not overwieght or at least i dont think i am...

i know its not healhy... and i will gain weight believe me i already am...
so how can i keep myself from eating so much and thinking about fOod all the time.
I WANT TO HAVE SELF CONTROL AGAIN...=((

omg we should like meet or sumthin!! im 5`5 to and i weigh like 120 pounds no joke!! i think about food all the time and my moms like *w/ french accent* "jessi, u need 2 stop this b4 u end up like nikki from hairspray!!" i always say "harsh!!" wat u need 2 do is buy a lot of fruits, vegetables, and healthy foods and wen u get hungry just eat those!! just recently i asked my dad 2 go out 2 the grocery store and buy plums, apples, carrots, etc. and also get a lot of yogurt!! ive lost like 10 pounds from all tht!! it really works!! seriously and run or do 10 crunches and 10 situps and just alternate btween them!! ive been doin tht 4 a month and it gav me abs!!!!!! i wuz sooooo happy!!! im gonna hav a banana now!! do tht at least 5 times a week and u will c results by the end of tht week. im not jokin around like most people would. just try it!!

Eating vegetables and fruit as a snack is a great way to curb your appetite

that's exactly the problem I have.
I've been thinking all day today, but FOOD is just in my mind and I can't stop eating cuz I think so much about it.

yea try drinking lots of water that will fill your stomache up and feel less hungry, you will just have 2 pee really bad(:

Find something to do. If you are bored, you are more likely to eat.

Maybe you're eating so much because you're bored. A lot of people snack because they have nothing else to do. If you feel like snacking: go for a run, take a walk, put on some music, read a book, go out with a friend...do something to keep you distracted.

Do something that will take your mind off food, like decorate your room, clean up your room, style something in the house, make something, clean your car or bike or whatever, go shopping, go to the park, get a dog, etc etc...do anything to keep your mind off of food. I tend to think of food a lot as well, so what I do is I do something productive like clean my room or decorate it, and that takes me at least 3 hours or more, and then all that time, I don't even remember about food anymore. Go exercise or something, that usually does it for me.

thats just a mental issue your self control is something only you can fix.

You need to do something. Get out of the house take your mind of food. Go out wiv ur mates to the park or something. Or try drinking wen ur hungry. I used to be hungry all the time but i realised it was actually because i was thirsty at the time and beacuse i wasn't drinking anything i was eating more then i would become more thirsty and therefore eat more lol ^_^

I really dont know, i have the exact same problem. Except i just keep loosing weight, but i know the weight will catch up with me cause it has before.(Im 5'4'' 112lbs) You are perfect weight for your height by the way. I guess try to do things you like to do to keep your mind off food. Try eating fruits and vegtables instead of any other foods when you get bored and stuff. Thats what i try doing. Hope this helps.

If you want to stop eating when you are not hungry, then don't put anything in your mouth. Nobody forces you to eat, you eat simply because you want to.

How do you stop thinking about food all the time? There is no need to do this, all you need to do is stop acting on it.

Not eating is simple. In this case the word can't is a lie.

yeah I think I have the same problem, I had being dieting and lost about 10 lbs. but after spring break I started eating a lot again... It helps to look at pictures of models, and keep'm in mind so next time you put something in your mouth you'll think about being fat and all.... or eat sugar free gum... that way you won't want to eat...

this may sound a bit odd - but the same thing happened to me. i'd even eat until i felt sick and STILL eat. for me it ended up being food allergies.

one way to tell is if you have really bad cravings. like do you crave one particular food... the one you want the most is quite often the one you're allergic to. if you can't afford or manage to get testing, you could try an small elimination diet. say for example, you're craving sweets. then (and it WILL be difficult because you'll have withdrawal symptoms), purposefully DO NOT eat sweets. in a day or two, if the cravings clear up and you're able to eat normally, then chances are you were sensitive or allergic to something in the food.

if it's nothing more than boredom, the obvious answer is to try to find something distracting to do. and something like watching tv, etc. isn't going to be enough because it doesn't engage you fully. try going for a walk, a craft or hobby (especially if it uses your hands)...
