For some it does work(meaning keeps the weight off) b/c most of the time these ppl that are muscular still have a good metabolism. So if exercise is added to this then they will burn fat also so if and when they were to go back to eating they will only be gaining water weight but will still weigh lesser b/c they lost fat in the process and their metabolism is still good b/c of their muscle. Hope I helped. xoxo Jeana*

dood dont go on a crash diet...those r MEGA unhealthy...could do major damage to your bod.just look in magazines and on the internet for a good diet plan...not a crazy crash diet, just a normal heathly lifestyle change.
no worries. your not the only one..and it is possible...dont give up! GOT IT! lol...good luck and have fun with it!

It didn't work for her. She is anorexic.

My cousin does Weight Watchers and its pretty wicked.

You can eat whatever you want, just as long as you dont go over your set point range.

PLus. I think you are normal weight. I went to the doctors alst year [when i was 14] and he said i was in the 30% range. when i was 115 pounds. So 130 is normal. No reason to lose it.

NO NO NO NO NO......

Crash diets do NOT work- whenever you go on a "diet", meaning you just eat all salads, or you try the atkins diet, etc., your are usually depriving your body of a certain nutrient. (In the case of Atkins, it's carbs.)- your body will initially be "shocked" into changing metabolism, but will eventually catch up and adapt. It's also not healthy to deprive your body of any of the food groups. (Remember the food pyramid you learned early on in school? It's a good thing!)

The best way to stay fit, and/or lose weight, is to eat healthy. Cut out sodas, sugars, and junk food- eat more fruits and vegetables, drink water, milk and fruit juices. Add this with a moderate amount of exercise (30 minutes a day, 2 times a week)- and you will be happier and healthier.

There is a REASON they are called "crash" diets. They do NOT work, they are just used to temporarly drop weight. Sweetie, you are 14 years old and are still growing. If you are concerned about your weight (which you are NOT overweight), sit down and talk to your parents and ask them if they will take you to your doctor and help educate you about nutrition (if you tell them you want to DIET, they will not take you seriously and say "oh honey, you're not fat...tell them you want to learn how to be healthy). Maybe even recommend seeing a nutritionist. You should not be worried about being "thin", worry about being HEALTHY. Exercise 3 to 5 times a week for 30 minutes while eating HEALTHY (not dieting) and lots of water is what you should be worrying about. Besides, Paris Hilton is not someone you should model yourself after. Your body type and height should determine your weight, not what you see on tv or on the internet. I hope you see that what everyone else thinks doesn't matter...as long as you are happy with who you are (and boys love a confident girl...not one who won't eat or one that doesn't take care of themselves, inside and out).
