My mom weighs over 600lbs, and eats 33,000 calories a day, is this bad?!

Question: Yes

Answers: Yes

nope! its perfectly normal! you need to follow in her footsteps, she is setting a great example for you :)

yes

Considering she should probably weigh 1/4 of that, yes--very.

Yes that is bad. She should be eating 2,000 - 2,500 calories a day.

no crap that's bad, that's so unhealthy it's disgusting, you're supposed to eat 1,800 calories a day...uuggghhh, 600lbs?

yes, that is terrible. that amount of calorie intake doesn't even seem possible!!! she probably is really ill, and has a lot of medical problems. The average person who is on a healthy diet,(not diet as in weight loss, but just what they eat normally) should be eating 2000 calories a day. She needs to go don gradually, a sudden drop can serious injure her. That 33,000 is enough for 16.5 people to eat a day.

You mom Needs serious Help. If not She could die. I heard of people with severe over weight problems. They have a procedure called Gestural By-pass. You might want to consider with your physician what to do.

If you are talking about pounds. I would say yes. It is alright to eat that much calories a day if you are very skinny. Seems to me that your mom is overweight.

I'd like to interject a comment about calories.
When we talk about calories, we *actually* mean kilocalories or kcals. Thus, 33,000 "calories" is actually 33 kcals. The average person should consume between 1800-2400 kcals per day. Thus, if your mom was only consuming 33 kcals (which society commonly calls "calories") per day then she would be energy deficient.

As for the weight issue, I think that the answer is self-evident. You don't need to ask us whether this is bad because it is obviously unhealthy (from a health perspective, anyways). However, she deserves just as much love and respect as anyone else.

That's definitely not healthy for her, she should think about eating a lot less calories than that! She must be huge.. Suggest to her to try losing a little weight!

ok that is gross
she is eating like almost 10 ibs. a day
does she exercise at all????
that is like 30 pounds a month
just thinking about that makes me want to become belmic

No. She might increase her intake of non-diet soda, milk shakes, and hot dogs.
