Is it good that I burn 550-600 calories each day? (details inside)?!

Question: Ok so I am overweight. Im 5'9 and weigh 249 pounds. I dont really fat. I have wide shoulders and look muscular. Even though I dont lift weights. Every day ive been burning 500-600 calories. Last fall I weighed 261. Is this good? I started excersising again back in January but then stopped and bought a treadmill a month ago and started walking. Ive lost about 3-4 pounds using it. I feel like ive lost weight too. I think ive more than just 4 pounds walking on the treadmill. Today I walked an half hour at a pace that made me sweat I burned 200 calories. Then I walked 15 more minutes and burned 100 calories.

My question is, if I walk 15 minutes 4 times and burn 100 calories, can I still lose weight? Like if I walk for 30 minutes and burn 200 calories, and walk 3 or 4 more times walking 15 minutes to burn 100 calories will I lose weight? (if you understand what I mean)

It is good that you burn around six hundred calories a day, but you must keep in mind that the reason you burn so many is because you weigh more.

But, answering your question, you can lose weight by what you are doing. Any exercise that burns calories will help you lose weight. Make sure you don't eat more food though, because then it would be pointless.

Try HIIT instead

watch the video on front page (video #3)

with HIIT you only need 20-30 mins of it 3-5 days a week to loose weight effectively

Its a little vague what you mean by waking 3 or 4 more times for 15 minutes. If you mean in a day, that is is plenty! Its recommended that you get moderate exercise for 30-60 minutes a day for most days of the week. If you were saying 3 or 4 more times in a week, for only 15 minutes each, I would increase it to 30 minutes a day.

Going at a moderate pace that increases your heart rate without wearing you out is much better than going too hard and not being able to sustain it.
