Please help me loose weight!?!


Question: I am 17, 5ft 3 and I weigh an embarrassing 15 stone (210lbs)!

I think I was just trying to ignore the fact I have been putting on weight slowly for a while, but I have put on just over a stone since I have been off work (for 3months). ( I am starting back on Thursday :D - cant wait. )

The final straw came when I went shopping for some new clothes and couldn't fit into the normal size I have, or the one above. I did the stupid thing of looking in the mirror and the sight was soo disgusting I burst into tears.

I am going back to the doctors on Tuesday to get help with a diet plan or something. This is getting me really down.

Think my weakness is sugar :S Any help with that too would be ace!

What kind of things can I do to get myself motivated?

I know its long winded, but thanks for any replies!

Don't cry! thats the first step...you're not fat just pleasantly plump.
if your weakness is sweets than opt for natural sugars such as bananas and other fruits. you could also subsitute sugar for splenda it is just as good without the calories. cereal is always nice and special k bliss bars are heavenly. yougurt is aweet and dairy gives you calcium and calcium cuts fat! so cheese, milk, and yogurt, sugar free or low fat icecream/frozen yogurts 24 oz. a day is a benefit.
HAVE TONS OF FIBER AND WATER!
Always offer yourself cheat days but not too often BUT extend the exercise time.

Yes, getting to a doctor for advice is a good start. You are spot on when you said your weakness is sugar. I am very similar to yourself for many years....feeling disgusted about how i looked in the mirror. Firstly, avoid takeaways like burgers, fries, ice cream. Stick to a healthy eating plan with low GI. Also, forget about diets. They never work! Or if they do work, only in the short term. Avoid refined carbohydrates like white bread, cookies and also hidden sugars. Always look at sugar content. Finally, do not starve yourself. Eat everything in moderation. Recently, I have been walking 30 minutes everyday and for the first time ever i am becoming healthier. All the best. You can do it!
