I don't think so. I eat less than that and am still fat.

You won't lose weight fast, because 1400 calories isn't very low, If you're thinking of a number to starve yourself or to diet with, Try around 1k or under. Make sure you take a vitamin supplement and exercise as well.

No, you will not loose weight fast by just eating 1495 calories a day. You must exercise also. More water, less food, lots of exercise is the only way to do it.

*EDIT* Women are not supposed to go under 1200 calories/day, men 1500/day. If you go 1000 you're forcing your body to go into starvation mode, you'll lack nutrition and energy, and your body will start to get desperate and store up calories instead of letting them be burnt. You're way better off just counting calories by looking at your bmi and weight target here http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/ and focus on eating healthier, like fruits, veggies, lean meat, nuts and dairy rather than just counting calories alone because if your metabolism's slow, it's not going to help at all.

Then, pair it with exercise and drink plenty of water.

Find something that you love doing like tennis or swimming that you'll be able to keep up for years without giving up. Do it at least 30 min/day, 5 days a week and you'll lose weight in no time.

Yes you can lose weight eating this amount. Work out how many calories your body uses in a day doing nothing (your basal metabolic rate): http://www.blaha.net/Main%20BMR%20Calcul... If you eat less than that you will lose weight. 500 less than your basal metabolic rate is best.

If you exercise every day, even just a walk, you'll really speed things up!

Don't listen to the people above. If you restrict your diet too much you could fail, you will slow down your metabolism and you could do yourself some damage.

Good luck, you'll do well!!

no the recommended is 2000 though if that helps

well, based on your info, you might lose, but not fast, 1000-1200 would be good for now, and as you lose, reduce intake

Depends on what you mean by fast.

Also depends on if you can actually stick to it.

That said, your weight loss will be limited if you do not exercise as well, as your body will simply adjust your metabolism downward. And my advice is to make sure you incorporate weight training.

Women tend to focus on aerobic exercise, and there is nothing wrong with that, but it is weight training that speeds up your metabolism and drives fat loss. This is because it is MUSCLE that burn energy (calories / fat), so if you increase the amount of muscle you have, you will speed your weight loss.

Aerobic exercise will of course burn calories, but when your down exercising you are pretty much done. A cross training workout that includes weight training will continue to burn calories even after you stop working out (the muscle repair that takes place after you are done working out burn calories).

Also, make sure you eat....eat your 1495 calories in the form of several small meals a day. Starving yourself also lowers your metabolism....the constant digestion of food helps burn calories as well, and keeps your "furnace burning" (metabolism).

Lastly...1495 calories doesn't sound like a big reduction from what is "normal" for a woman. People (including me) REALLY overeat...what you consume now is more than likely WELL in excess of what you really need. You will probably lose weight on 1495 per day if you exercise (remember, the ONLY way you lose weight is by burning more calories than you consume), but you asked about losing weight "fast". If you feel like you can't get by on less than 1495 calories per day (understandable), I would recommend that you target burning at least 500 calories via exercise EVERYDAY.

Hope that helps.
