LOL, okay so I am the only person on here that IS on P90X that has answered you so far....sorry about that.

Let me predicate. I have spent 20 years in the gym, and have always been a very muscular person or healthy. As the job and fatherhood began to take its tolls, I decided I wanted to move over to more optimum health and not pure bodybuilding. Bodybuilding by its own nature eventually devours the person doing it. As its nature is to cause injury to make you recover...doing it over 20 years will amass alot of micro injuries to your joints and tendons that require surgery to correct.

Now, as of November I moved over to P90X and honestly the initial start up costs are painful. On top of the program, I had to buy adjustable weight dumbbells by Bowflex, and a power tower to do chin ups.

But cost not withstanding...

I honestly do not see, how anyone could do this routine, and ever want to go back to the gym, ever. It is intense, as was outlined...and its not a startup routine. For my level of fitness. I struggled and died doing the additional things I had to learn. You relearn your body all over again doing ballistic training you would never think of (Plyometrics...Yoga)...but in the end, your stronger (yes I did say stronger) than bodybuilding will produce...much more athletic...in many ways muscular, flexible...and overall energies go thru the roof...regardless of gender, or where you start.

But let me be clear on this one point. It is what you would call "extreme" fitness, similar to what the cast of the movie "300" went thru. Your body is never comfortable...no matter how long you go thru it...it just gets more intense. Your gains in fitness come in leaps and bounds because of the efforts you put out, so your attention to diet has to be pretty serious.

That said, I will honestly say my foot will never grace a gym again, unless its to walk past and laugh. Trust me, if anyone thinks I am kidding about this program...try it. For the intial startup cost...you will save ALL the money you would waste in a gym membership, with a trainer who is all of 24 years old and has no idea how to deal with issues like aging and pregancy...you know...life.

This stuff is the real deal...you get out of it what you put in. By its nature...it requires you to put in ALOT.

If you want the total design out of your bodies potential, and not just want to be a billboard for "Steroid use"...this is the ONLY way to go.

i tried it and i was in so much pain, its not for people that are not in shape. its for people who are in the right weight range but just want definition
